An old workhorse radio Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Update: Wrote the original review about 6 years ago and in that time the scanner has never been turned off. After 20+ years of continuous operation it has never failed. It's probably the most reliable piece of equipment I own. I listen to the UP rail traffic, aircraft and in season 10 and 6 meter FM. Good audio fidelity. Sensitive. I got my money's worth on this one!

I bought this on sale in a RS store probably 15 years ago. Took it home, plugged it in and started programming local frequencies. In that time this thing has rarely ever been turned off. In my current shack it's been running 24/7 for the last 7 years. Not a single problem or issue.

Some may ask, why bother with the old analog stuff? Well I can monitor all the aircraft frequencies, ham frequencies and since I live next to a Union Pacific Rail line, the railroad freq's. Even though my local county fire has gone to digital operations, they still use the old frequencies for paging and dispatch.

I wish all of my electronics were as durable as this one.
