Mastrant-M: No Obvious Degradation After 5 Years Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Installed Mastrant-M 5mm on two 65 ft Rohn 25G towers (ropes visible on my QRZ page) five years ago. So far no problems and I have not needed to re-tension the ropes, creep has been minimal. No visible wear, nicks or problems with the jacket. The stainless steel duplex clips have held, no slippage, despite a couple of nasty storms that took down nearby trees and limbs. So far my Mastrant-M guy ropes have been a zero-maintenance item for me, which I greatly appreciate.

Based on this experience I now prefer Mastrant-M over Phillystran. One reason is Mastrant's use of small stainless duplex clips are a lot easier to deal with than preform grips. Preforms installed at the top of the tower near a Yagi can cause interaction and pattern distortion. With Mastrant it's simple: duplex clip, a thimble and a shackle. Another reason is Mastrant's core material, Dyneema, is superior to Phillystran's Kevlar core in terms of strength and abrasion resistance. Dyneema is highly UV-resistant while Kevlar is not.

One installation note: it's very important to pre-stretch the Mastrant prior to installation. I used a truck, a come-along and a tree to do that at ground level. I did it to between 10% and 15% of rated breaking strength. Done correctly it seems to eliminate the need to re-adjust guy tension after tower installation.

When I first installed Mastrant-M I had concerns about the product because there were few reports of how well it performs in the long term. Now, after 5 years of service, I'm pleased there have been no issues.

Mastrant Safety Belt Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I needed a new Safety Belt and after looking I found Mastrant had the best deal.I was sure surprised when it came..they were very fast to ship it and it came very well pack. After opening the package this belt is really very nice. Before, I had a Elk River belt and it was first class and this is also right there in quality and workmanship. The price was well below Elk River belt but I like it better. Mine is the LX3 model..very well done..Thanks Mastrant..

Great Products Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I am giving Mastrant Guy Ropes the highest rating because their products are fairly priced, great quality and great service. I have an 80m dipole up with Mastrant rope and pulleys and I have never had an issue with the rope or pulleys even after many years of Wisconsin weather.

Hard to believe as it is so thin Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I lost my 80M OCF to a falling tree branch and replaced everything, including my stretched nylon support ropes. I wanted something that was not too visible from the ground and really strong. I gave up on nylon, which I used because it stretched 33 percent so built-in strain relief. I bought the P3 rope. This stuff was simple to work with, is really thin and super strong. Ties really well. I ran it through the same trees as before, but this time terminated it on a heavy stainless spring attached to a solid eye bolt screwed into the tree trunk. We'll see how this works. The price is really good, and I think this would be ideal for stealth antennas.

Most durable guy line ever Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Have had this (MP03100) holding up my 6-meter J-pole for nearly a year, and neither the harsh 100-degree sun nor the freezing-cold winter has fazed it. Absolutely no stretch or sag whatsoever.
Was so impressed by the quality, feel, strength, and UV durability, that I bought two more spools.

good stuff! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
We've now enough experience with the Mastrant ropes to recommend them. We used it at K6MTU to hold up a set of 65 foot rohn G towers for a 4sq 80M antenna set.

We get 100 mph (160 km/h) wind gusts at this site, about 2-3 times a year. We started out using the 4mm P style rope. That stretched too much. We've since gone to the 4mm M style repo. Much less stretch. All has held up. We used the recommended rope clips. I'd recommend doubling up. No hint of the ropes breaking. There is a learning cycle. Read the info in the web site carefully, and ask them questions. They are very knowledgable and helpful.

I also took several rolls of the 3mm P type on the KH1/KH7Z Baker Island trip. Again, worked well. The rope was light weight, but, plenty strong, easy to work with, and tie.

The island is managed by the US Fish & Wildlife Service and they had protocols implemented to prevent exposure to seeds and other possible foreign invasions. One of those protocols restricted the type of rope, such that it couldn't hold seeds. That excluded the use of poly ropes and anything else braided.

Excellent product and support Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The Mastrant booth in Friedrichshafen always has a big crowd in front of it - with a reason.
Finding quality rope is not a walk in the park. A correct description of the fabric of the rope, and its purpose, is often hard to find (and is certainly not to be found in your local do-it-yourself store).
Mastrant does a great job on delivering quality rope, and finding your way around on what type of rope to use.
I needed camouflage rope for a multiple tree/antenna project, and came across the Mastrant-C rope.
Smooth delivery and very responsive, friendly e-mail support!
Keep up the good work!

Great products! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Ran into them at the Orlando Hamcation 2018. Just wandering through the show, and I accepted a small piece of sample rope, ignoring the booth - for about 3 steps, when I had to turn to speak to them for a bit, as the "hand" of this line was amazing!

Great products, highly recommended.
