Let me start by saying that this beam works for me. SWR is within advertised specs. In short order, I'm happy. The instructions could have been better.

Please note that if you are not mechanically inclined, you may struggle with assembly. I would highly recommend attaching the driven element LAST even though the instructions direct you to do this first. The elements can be tricky to work with and you risk damage to the driven element if it's mounted first.

The elements (Reflectors and Directors) are secured by "push-nuts" which can be cumbersome to work with. A tool (just a flat piece of aluminum) is provided to assist with the push nuts. In my opinion, the hole in this tool should only be large enough to allow the elements to pass through (no bigger). Hopefully you have a drill and a drill bit that's about 1/32 of an inch larger than the elements. Consider placing a small amount of silicone on each of the push nuts after they are all assembled. Take your time. I did the 440 elements first, and the 144 elements second.

The elements were color coded, however, there was no cross reference provided.

I am happy with this antenna overall. The instructions could have been better. The price didn't break the bank.

Good luck if you get one. 73, Mark N3NJ

Not Impressed Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I would rate this antenna higher if the installation instructions were better (Incorrect instructions for installing the driven element, no indication as to which element goes where on the boom, no mention of where to place (or even install) the tie wraps). Also the quality control of the parts and drilling is not great (the coax end would not fit over the associated screw, the elements are not perfectly aligned on the boom as the holes are not aligned). Difficult to install the push-nuts.

The antenna does work. So I am satisfied with its operation.
