Bang for the buck ! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Use it with the FTDX-1200 and an SCU-17. Just follow the instructions and it works well. Make sure all your baud rates on through devices match. The one button, one indicator, front panel take getting use to, but it does grow on you. I use it with a long end-fed and a hex beam with good results. Good box for the money.

It Works! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
purchased this tuner for my ftdx3000d since the internal tuner is very limited in combination with the cobra ultralite jr. i am using at my qth. problem solved. wish, like others have mentioned, that it would tune automatically. integration with rig no problem. plug and play. i am using the db9 on the tuner to connect my microham usb III interface for digital modes with fldigi to the radio and my macbook pro. also no problem.

Better then the internal tuner! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought this from HRO for about $230 after the internal tuner on the FTDX-1200 was giving me the same results as my other rigs with internal tuners, 3 bands with my G5RV Junior. I was using an external MFJ-989c manual tuner for years with my other rigs and it gave me 2 or 3 more bands but VERY time consuming tuning up with it. This gadget (LDG YT-1200) gives me 160 to 10 meters, and even the 29 MHz FM portion of 10 meters. Haven't used it on 6 meters yet because I have an antenna that is specifically tuned to that band in antenna port "2" in the rig, so I have no need to. Needless to say the MFJ-989c is on Ebay now. I wish it tracked your frequency or at least used the "Tune" button on the radio instead of having to press the button on the Autotuner all the time when you change frequency. This tuner is so good that I am cosidering buying another "non-radio model specific" auto tuner from LDG to use with my other rigs when the MFJ-989c sells on Ebay!

Much better for my FTDX3000 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was using the YT-450 with my FTDX3000 which I used for the most part just on 10M as the internal tuner would HighSWR on me on that band with my Windom.. The YT450 did work but it would flip VSO and then reset power to 50W in data mode which was frustrating..
Enter the YT-1200 well simply put it just works and does not upset any settings or play with the VSO before tuning. Seems way better at remembering previously used frequencies.
I gave 4 as it would be so nice if it tracked the frequency on the CAT rather than me pushing a button all the time..
I got used to the blinking LED for feedback it takes a hours then it becomes second nature..
The YT450 will go back with the FT450 where it works just fine.

Thanks LDG for updating the tuner for use with the FTDX3000 marked improvement same interface..

Buggy "2000" memory setting Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I just purchased this last week from HRO and I have mixed opinions on it. I installed the tuner for my Yaesu FT-450D as instructed. The tuning function works but does not seem to store or remember the frequencies it has tuned already. It works 20% of the time but in most cases it will do a full tuning cycle that can be from 20-30 seconds. For operators that dont switch much from band-band or frequencies, this is not a big deal but it is a pain if you are DX hunting. Even if I do a full tune cycle in all my memory channels, it will not remember the settings if I go back to that memory channel and do a full 20+second tuning cycle. Lastly, if you are using a repeater on a FT-450D with a offset, the tuner will tune your antenna to the output of the repeater instead of the input or frequency you will be transmitting at.

I find it a bit pricey for $260 for a tuner that only handles 120 watts and comes with a mechanic push button and one LED light. I don't do CW and maybe this tuner was made for that because you better be ready to count how many times the LED blinks and decipher it using the manual just to find out what it means.

Works as advertised Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
A better autotuner than the built in Yaesu FTDX-3000 tuner. Includes an interface to integrate with the YAESU radio. However, it doesn't adjust the tuner automatically based on your transmit band/frequency. When switching frequency, you need to press button on tuner to start a tuning scan. If it is a previously used frequency it will remember it and do a short tune cycle otherwise the tune cycle takes about 10 - 15 seconds while transmitting a tuning tone.
