I actually have the SP-35 with 2 meter cable, rather than the SP-35L with a 6 meter cable. Sound is poor, I thought maybe ICOM messed up and was putting out an 8 ohm speaker for their 4 ohm radios, Yes tried it with ICOM IC-7100 and IC-7300, nope it is a little more than 4, actually 4.5. Also, tried Pyle PLMR24B, they are supposed to be 4 ohm as well, and the showed 4.5 as well. Then I tried a cheap Cobra HG S300, and even though it was 8 ohm it was louder and cleaner, and when you hit the noise reduction button it is amazing. All this from a $25 speaker.

This is a great little speaker, nice bracket to adjust for both desk and mobile applications. Very well made and even though "Made In China" it really exhibits a quality component. The original order said f/M412 but the box was labeled SP-35. It's very small but perfect as an unit to use in your shack. I attached it to my 2730A VHF/UHF unit and it sounds great. Paid 49.00 on Amazon.

Mine came free when I purchased an IC-7100 from ML&S. Solid little unit, really weighty, long lead with ferrite and mounting bracket. I would never pay £36 for such a little speaker to be honest but I have to say it's a great little speaker. Gives a great, if slightly bassy, audio. Really brings out the sound of the radio, far superior to the internal speaker. You can crank it up and it doesn't distort. Really amazed at how great it sounds. I've actually disconnected by HiFi speaker from my 7100 in the shack and use this instead. Build quality is great. It would be a 5 if it wasn't for the price.
