500 channel trunking scanner Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a nice scanner, although I would wait until it goes on sale for $200.00 before I would buy it. It has 500 memory channels in 10 banks of 50 channels each. Frequency coverage is 29-54 Mhz, 108-174 Mhz and 380-960 Mhz. It tracks LTR, Motorola and Edacs systems at the same time. It
lets you enter a 12 character ID label for each channel. Weather Alert and SAME decode. Sensitivity is good across the entire frequency range and intermod rejection is excellent. It is a little bigger than their old PRO-60 and just as well made. You can clone data from another PRO-92, or with the optional software you can program the PRO-92 from your PC. The audio is good and the unit uses six AA batteries. (Nicads can be recharged in the unit) The only flaw is the lack
of the military air band frequency range. If the old PRO-60 had it they should have been able to include it in their PRO-92.
