cute for embellishment Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The sm-6 is a very old microphone, it does the job, it's nice for a vintage station, the audio is sharp, frequency cut between 400hz to 2700hz, super punch, I personally wouldn't use it with the new series from icom, it's a waste, the audio looks like a phone from the 70s, to take better advantage of the 2900hz I would go for the new ones, it only serves to have comfort, and sight.

Great microphone for the IC-7300 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was looking for SM-8 which owned before but I found the SM-6 microphone in mind shape second hand on our local online flea market for little money and gave it a try. It works perfectly with my IC-7300, I got great audio rapports from all my QSO partners. The tiny desk top microphone is ideal to handle because it does not need much place. I can recommend it, if you get one buy it!

Fantastic little mic Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
What a fantastic little mic.... Picked up at a Hamfest and it works very well with my ICOM 7300.
Great sound from a tiny package.
Well done with this one ICOM!

Have Several Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had & used both the SM-6 & the SM-8. After several side-by-side QSO sessions over time I opted to keep the SM-6 mics. One of my local ham friends has also adopted them for his ICOM gear.

Fantastic microphone! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Fantastic match to use with ICOM 718!

Always get great audio reports! Really works fantastic with icom 718 and compression on.

I have no problem in pileups! Working with 100 watts and inverted v antenna, the other station will pick me up in a couple of calls!

Old school quality Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have used these on several radios over the years. I currently use one on my IC-7410 with the mic set at 2 o'clock and the rigs treble at plus 4. It's built to last and I like the audio better than my SM-30 or my Heil BM-10ic.

Punchy little mic Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is one of my favorite desk mikes. It can be picked up and handled easily or lock the button and talk from 2 feet away. It works with many Icoms and I have always been able to count on this mic to get me good audio reports. I like it better than the sm-20 because it works just as good but you can pick it up and use it with comfort. I use one now on a 781 radio. I have been told this is my best sounding rig with this mic.

works well on newer Icom gear Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Bought this mic for a IC-751 many years ago and now use it on a IC-7200 with good results.

The original windscreen came apart but found a great replacement in the WindTech 1300 Series with 5/8" ID.

Great when set up properly Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I bought one in mint condx on eBay for less than $40.00 to use with my 706MKIIG. Have received almost 100% great audio reports, mostly unsolicited. On SSB I run it with control on the bottom of the mic at 2 o'clock and the Mic Gain on the rig at 7. On FM I have to crank it back to the 10 o'clock position and lower the Mic Gain to 2. Can't give it a "5" because it seems to me that I shouldn't have to make such radical adjustments on the mic and rig just to switch modes - especially on a microphone designed to work with the radio and with the same brand name! Still, when things are set properly the mic seems to perform very well.

Not so good Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
This mic needs more than a bit of help.
Its all treble no bass at all. Its also way to hot on FM, no matter what adjustments are made on the radio or mic. Also the audio quality on SSB is less than astounding. Ill stick with my HM-12 hand mic!
