Description:
The Pro 7 offers a feature set that compliments the Heil Sound standard for headset design. Unlike copies of various aviation type headsets, the PRO 7 is not a copy.

excellent Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
je le possede depuis 2 mois, sur un kenwood ts-890, je n'ai jamais rien entendu d'aussi efficace, le recepteur du 890 etant deja dynamique couplé a ce casque... c'etait inimaginable avant.

RFI magnet Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
On the 1st use there is RFI on the audio.
Very disappointed.
I have a PR 781 and Proset IC that work perfectly.
The Pro 7 is fundamentally flawed.
Time to upgrade to Radiosport headset…
Pro 7 headset is destined for the garbage bin.

Outstanding Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Outstanding headset. If you're experiencing RFI, it's not from these, it's from something else in your shack.

Easily the best I have used Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I use a lot of Heil equipment, several mics, both hand held and boom mounted, PTT buttons, headsets, etc. I use both Pro 6 Elite and Pro 7's and each is with a different brand of transceiver. I have heard several comments on the pinching of the headsets but have not experienced this. Maybe my head is just shaped differently. I've noted that on a couple of videos that if you have this situation, just pull the ears pieces apart a bit before putting them on usually does the trick. From what hear from my contacts, the mics are very clear and not distorted. The headsets come with ear pads and
perhaps these should be used as I Find them more comfortable.

With HC74 element the best contest audio for Flex 6600 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I struggled to get competitive contest audio for Flex 6600. Either nice and weak or strong but distorted. Then I heard someone with the Flex and a punchy clear signal - he was using Heil Pro 7 and the DX (HC74) element. So I bought mine. In tests with another mic and Flex's equalizer, and Pro 7 without the equalizer, Pro 7 seems to win by a large margin.

Very good, just one beef Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Overall quality and performance is great. Received audio is very clear and I get good reports on my transmitted audio with my IC-7300. A large headset but comfortable to wear.

My one beef: locating the cable jack on the bottom was a bad decision, as it makes the cable drag uncomfortably on my shoulder. I made a support to hold the cable high, but I shouldn't have to do that. Heil should relocate the jack.

Excellent Headset with Microphone Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have been using the Pro-7 for about 6 months now and find them essential for "pulling" faint signals out of the "weeds". You have to adjust the width and height of the earphones to provide comfort. Time spent on the adjustment pays off tremendously. My set has the additional dongle for attachment to my Yeasu FTDX101MP. When you have both receivers "SYNCed" the spatial float of the frequency is just amazing... A pileup becomes somehow WIDE and you can pick out signals. Make sure to set the DNR of bot receivers just a bit different. Also the gain control on both receivers need not be the same so you can play with this aspect as well.

The audio from the PRO-7 is very excellent by reports I have received. I have just ordered the "orange" DYNamic element and with give it a try. It is supposed to be a bit more "PUNCHY" for DX work... we shall see. I use the optional foot switch for transmit as this allows both hands to be free for keyboard log typing and knob twiddling. A fine headset. Make sure to spend time adjusting it OK?

Thought about this purchase for a long time Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Before the Pro7 I used many cheap computer headsets, with varying success. I also used WGA headset, which I liked, but having large ears,(no not like a circus clown), the headset didn't fit quite right. So after reading many PRO7 reviews I purchased it. I like it. Some have said it is too heavy, but I got used to it in an hour and don't notice it. The only thing I would like to see improved is a more flexible cable system. Otherwise, great.
I waited a long time to purchase because of the price. For twice the price, a nice used radio can be purchased. Or for same price, a smartphone. But it is a matter of production scale that greatly influences price and many less Pro7 are sold than cell phones etc. A lot of accys come the Pro7, two sets of ear muffs, cloth covers, a straight cord, a coiled cord, and a PTT desk button.
I wish now that I had purchased a Pro7 initially instead of so many cheaper headsets, looking for a good cheapo.
My Pro7 is configured with the dynamic mic, which works well with my FT-1000MP, my Heath SB-104A, and with my Flex 6300. Being a dynamic mic, the mic levels are set higher than with an amplified mic.
A very comfortable headset and I am glad I finally made the jump from cheapo headsets to the Pro quality.

Hmmmm Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I am somewhat conflicted about the Heil Proset 7. The received and transmitted audio is outstanding both ways. But, as others have previously stated, they are somewhat cumbersome. I went ahead and bought them anyway. To be honest, after one hour I have to take them off because they are so uncomfortable. So, they are no longer in use here.

As they say, you get what you pay for Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I am using my Pro7 headphones with my IC-7300. These were not my first choice, because of the price. But I finally caved and ordered a set. I've had a lot of headphones but I must say these are the best and I would buy them again.
