Great stand ! Great Price! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After considering using a desk-mount boom stand, I started researching available products out there. I did consider the Heil PL2-T but after reading the reviews here on Eham, I decided to go with this one.

This stand is rock solid and steadily holds my large ribbon mic with pop filter weighing just over 3 lbs. The desk clamp is rock solid too and I feel safe with my expensive and delicate ribbon mic.

I will eventually use the supplied desktop mounting flange which requires drilling a hole for a permanent and even more secure mounting location.

This stand looks professional and should last a long time. The scissor arms are sturdy and don't make noise.

The one advantage the Heil has is a top and back opening of the frame to hide the mic cable. The Rode model uses supplied hook and loop straps to secure the cable, not quite as neat but effective.

The Heil cost more and you have to pay extra for the desktop flange mount, the Rode comes with it.

If your looking for a desktop boom, then I would say this one is a winner!
