Poorly Made Product By a Company That Offers No Support Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased the MR75S from AES. I chose the antenna over others due to the specs and the fact that it came with the small LMR 100 co-ax. I presumed that the Diamond antenna would be better quality than the comparable model MFJ at half the price. The delivered price was $51. Upon removal from the package, I immediately noticed that the antenna element slipped freely in the ferule that secures the element to the stud on the mag base. There is no setscrew to secure the element. Attaching the element to the stud did not secure or tighten the element. The end of the element wire is flattened to prevent it from slipping out of the ferule. It was determined that the method the factory uses to secure the element to the ferule is swaging and that the antenna I had received had not been swaged in manufacturing. Sawging leaves no means of adjusting it for SWR should it be necessary. In addition, the stud that the ferule threads on to was totally powder-coated preventing electrical contact. The was no easy means to remove the powder coating other than scraping it with a razor. Why they didn't mask the threads before coating is unexplainable. Multiple phone call messages were left with Diamond per their website instructions and multiple emails were sent to Diamond warranty service but to date no calls have been returned and no emails have been answered.

In addition, I made contact with AES to see if they would either send a call tag for the defective antenna or send a replacement whip. They refused. AES said they would compromise, if I was willing to return the defective antenna and pay the $12 in return shipping that they would get approval to send me the replacement and not charge me a second time for shipping. At that point I'd have $63 in an antenna that isn't worth $20.

In summary, The Diamond MR75S is poorly manufactured, has no means to adjust it for SWR, and above all ZERO warranty support.
