Great Inexpensive Headset Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The Koss CS100 is an inexpensive computer headset designed for use with speech recognition software, Skype, gaming, etc., and they also happen to work great with my IC-7200. I've had unsolicited compliments from folks that didn't have a clue that I was using a $15 headset. I'm using them with an adapter purchased from Audio-Comm on eBay and a homemade PTT switch. The mic uses an electret element which requires a small bias voltage, but an interface/adapter can be made or purchased, so they will work with most any radio.

They're light, comfortable, and sound good on receive.

The downside of cheap headsets is durability, but they seem to built decently enough, if not mistreated. The biggest potential weak spot is the thin cord. I covered mine with some 1/8" split braided sleeving that makes it now feel heavy duty and prevents it from twisting. I also added a ferrite bead at the plug end to help with any possible RFI.

I feel many "pro" headsets are overpriced and these are an inexpensive alternative or backup.
