A useful computer controlled XCVR Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I finally got around to doing the final construction on this. A good solid computer controlled XCVR. I plan on using it and perhaps its brethren for a series of servers for ARPS iGate, Echolink etc. using Raspberry PI.

It has now been replaced as a product by the RS-UV3A.

One quirk: using the RS-UV3 console, one must first set the CTSS tone and then select TX or RX/TX.

If you do it in the reverse order the CTSS tone frequency is not changed.

Was advised by designer to update firmware which has cured all the problems.

100% unique Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
There will be as many ideas for how to use this new product as there are hams using it. For me, it's the successor to the only 'fixed station' FM rig I would have wanted to have, the Drake UV3. I can now take the mobile FM radio used in the shack for local chatting on repeaters, and replace it with a an app on my desktop screen!
