Must have gotten a bad one, they said. Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
After building my own wire antennas for a number of years I decided to retire my tuner and purchase a dipole for 40 & 80 meters that handled high power and wouldn't require a tuner.

I hung the antenna by the balun about 50 feet up using a pulley and some rope (there is no eyelet provided so I had to tie it to the wire connection points) and did a 40 meter SWR check in the CW portion of the band. It was short so I lengthened the 40 meter segment as much as I could and it was STILL short.

I contacted the firm I bought it from and they said, "we've sold a ton of them and never had a problem" and that was the end of that.

So, I removed the wire from my new $135.99 dipole and ordered an adequate length of Flex-weave and now it works fine on both 40 and 80. I also replaced the provided support strings with real cord.

Maybe I just got a bad one as the salesman suggested, but it gets a poor rating because despite costing $135 it's cheaply made--light gauge wire (not 14 ga as advertised), no hook to hang the center from, and small support strings.

Plug & DX Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
That dipole was what I was missing to cover 40 and 80 meter bands. The dipole is 27 meters long and light weight. I simply attached the balun (rated at 1KW) under the rotator of my hexbeam. Feed point was about at 11 meters and the antenna was in an inverted V shape. First contacts were made during CQWW CW 2014. Plenty of DX were logged on 40 and some more on 80.

Well designed and flat SWR on all 40-meter band. Mine was resonating better on 80 SSB than CW. With a bit of tuning, no problem to completely cover the band.

Cheaper than competitors and great communication with Rodrigo EA7JX. That antenna is the easiest solution to be QRV on the low bands. I give it a 5!
