TARA awards are now GAPA awards Time Owned: N.A.
TARA did a fabulous job of their digital awards program. I thoroughly enjoyed striving for and eventually receiving a number of their certificates, endorsements and other super wallpaper.

Now, GAPA is doing the very same awards and even has the same fellow crafting the certificates and endorsements. And he is just great to work with.

See GAPAWARDS dot com for all the details.

Enjoy!

Luck, WA4STO

An Award Program Worth Pursuing Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently found out about the TARA Awards Program and have been pleasantly surprised by it. Ernie, WM2U is extremely helpful and willing to walk you through the application process.

A review of your logbook will yield some interesting results. Certificates are attractive and results are also posted on the TARA website.

Give it a try...

Great Digital Awards Program. Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I wanted a progressive series of awards & endorsements that reflected the many hundreds of different maidenhead grids that I've confirmed on several different modes and on many HF bands over the past several decades. TARA Grid is the perfect match for me. Requirement for the Basic Grid Award is confirmation of 300 unique 4-digit grids on any band from 160M through 6M using any one of a number of different modes. I met this criteria for RTTY, PSK (any PSK submode) and JTx. Confirmation is either QSL card, LoTW or eQSL. As I had many electronic confirmations it was easy to tally up my grids using my logbook program (DXLabs - DXKeeper). Awards are processed in a timely manner by a very competent veteran of the TARA - cost was well within my budget for a high-quality mountable award. DDXCC for TARA Grid isn't just working one hundred different entities - it is much more difficult. One has to work multiple grids that depend mostly on both the physical size and amateur radio population of the entity. I had to confirm around 350 grids to earn my DDXCC of 100 entities. There are also separate endorsements for Australian Territories, Canadian Provinces, the Antarctica and even maritime mobiles! Finally, there is an 'on-line' record listing of who has earned what. The TARA Awards are a welcome change to the 'standard' ARRL and CQ Awards.
