Stellar performance at a miracle price Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Many people consider this to be Sangean's very best product, it's a simple AM/FM Radio which is surprisingly beefy and high-performing, it produces miraculous sound from a 3" speaker and has extremely high FM and AM sensitivity. It is one of the few radios I have found that always tunes the PBS radio station in each metro where i've lived, normally the weakest on the dial. Sangean makes the award-winning series of C Crane CC Radios ($160) and this model FULLY replaced our broken CC Radio but at only $60 (street price), it's a steal. Sangean makes about 5 similar radios in the $45-$75 range but this one stands out. How could you make the radio better? Have a larger 6" speaker, add a tone control. The main downside is that a wake-to-radio-or-buzzer alarm, is extremely confusing to set or disable, so I taped instructions on the back of the radio on how to toggle off the alarm. I purchased a 2nd radio for my mom after her C Crane radio broke, too.
