Great tool Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I bought the DXE-UT-KIT1 6 or so months ago since our hospital inheritied a 500' roll of LMR-400 from another hospital. I figured I would eventually need to put some connectors on it. Well I took the kit with me to Field Day last week-end. What a dream to use - not only did I put a 50' peice of coax into service (quickly I might add) but we also got a good educational activity (and the points) out of it. I bet I could have sold 10 kits on the spot. The product is easy to learn, easy to use and gives a consistent result.

The best I have used!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have been working with wire stripping tools for more years than I care to count; in fact, I am a certified instructor for NASA spec circuit board repair and soldering. This is one of the best tools for coax prep I have ever used, and is certainly the easiest! I can't recommend these enough! Expensive yes, worth it resounding yes!

Only way to go! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've been connectorizing coax cables for 46 years now. And for the first time I no longer dread prepping the cables. I purchased the DXE-UT-8123 and the DXE-UT-808X as I use both LMR-400 and LMR-240 for all my applications. These tools work great, resulting in a prepped coax in about 30 seconds with minimal effort. I use all crimp-connectors now, so the center conductor length after prepping needs a little trimming - but this is a trivial process. Great products!

Why did I wait so long Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I'm using all crimp-on connectors now, thanks to this tool. I'm use Davis Bury-Flex off a 500 ft roll. Only to tips (1) make sure the cable is straight coming off the spool it has a curve (2) Invest in a good cable cutter.
The folks a DX are the best.....

You need this for LMR-400 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was given a couple of hundred feet of LMR-400. Great coax, but working with it was like wrestling an Anaconda, especially when the coax was cold. I saw an add on DX Engineering for a cable striper ( DX UT 8213) and watched their video. Can’t be that simple I thought to my self. I ordered one and it shipped the same day I order it. It arrived on a cold day so it was a good day to test it. Wow it worked just like and as easy as shown in the video the first time. I was hesitant over the $40 price, seeing how well it worked and the amount of work I do with this cable I would have payed double after using it.

Great tool. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased the DX Engineering SXE-UT-8213 coax stripping tool since I had about 20 connections to make in Beldin 9913f cable - a thick, difficult cable to work with, but very low loss. I had previously purchased another cable stripping tool from DXE, made by a 3rd party, that had not worked well. Since I have had excellent results with the DXE products over the years and they now offer a a tool with their name on, I decided to give it a try. Works great per their instructions. Two suggestions: (1) make a fresh cut in the cable and then "round it up" before attempting to use the stripper. (2) make sure you are feeding the cable in slowly and straight -- if at an angle, will not cut clean. My only complaint is that I wish they had this 40 years ago -- would have saved many hours and frustration. Also, check out their DXE-UT-80P, a cleaver tool for screwing the connector onto the stripped cable.
