The ZN-9dx is built on a 3 1/4" diameter base and weighs 2 3/4 pounds. It features 3 ball bearing per lever arm, magnetic return, solid silver contact points and very fine threaded magnet and contact screws (56 TPI). It has 6 non-skid feet for maximum stability. All screws are stainless steel and fingerpieces are carbon fiber. The OTO ( outside to outside dimension of the fingerpieces) options are either 1/2" or 3/4". I met Tony at the Orlando HamCation. He had all of his products not only on display but each was hooked up and had a chair by each one on the table so they could be tried. The workmanship was VERY impressive -- as are the various styles he offers to suit individual preferences for size, weight, feel. Tony struck me as a true "old fashion" ham -- a genuine "CW guy". A man who runs a business with quality products and integrity. Unfortunately those qualities are in short supply in many areas of life these days so it's a treat to find them. I ordered a ZN-Lite II with a new style base he was launching. He didn't want payment or even a deposit -- said he would invoice me when it shipped. He stayed in touch and it was shipped in a couple weeks -- just as he said it would be. It is flat out great. Had it adjusted to my feel and was making QSOs in a couple minutes. WHAT A PLEASURE TO USE. Worth the cost. Definitely much better than my Vibroplex that I thought was "the standard" for the many years I have had it. The Vibroplex will continue to live on the home QTH desk. I'm not going to throw it out. But my true ham love is QRP portable so the N3ZN will travel with me and add to that enjoyment for many years to come. It and my IC-705 are made for each other -- great CW lives on!

Outstanding Paddle Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I saw my ZN-9dx advertised on a QRZ swapmeet ad. I checked out the reviews on eham and purchased it. I liked my Bencher paddle and still use it for FD, but the Bencher, while more than adequate, can’t hold a proverbial candle to my ZN-9dx. The settings from the original owner were ok, but after a week or so of making slight adjustments, it’s perfect for me. I’m not a speedster, I send around 20 - 25 wpm and it’s always a joy to use.

This is my 2nd N3ZN paddle, and while certainly not cheap for me to purchase across the border here in Canada, what with the low dollar and whatnot, is well worth the money.

After 30 or so years, I used to think my Benchers were a really nice paddle, but after using some others like Tony's, I see how loosey-goosey they are. Tony's are built wonderfully. I won't ever buy another $50-$100 set of paddles from anyone.

Both my N3ZN paddles have been custom built with specs/colours not the defaults, however I am sure the defaults will be perfect for 95% of hams anyways....but I like things to match the shack or the car colours and design, so Tony worked with me.

Awesome product and the packing is like I have never seen before. Short of being run over by a forklift, I doubt you could have the key you paid your hard earned money for be damaged in shipment. This is reality at times for buying something from far away. I doubt any of Tony's keys will EVER be damaged in shipping.

Not sure what more I could say that hasn't already been said 100 times.

The ZN-9DX was on a real tight time line and I ordered it exactly 1 month before Xmas to be opened on Xmas morning, knowing he was a couple weeks behind. Guess what - I opened it Xmas morning !

Thanks Tony.
