Rev N6BT EV-5R (Relay Switched) Vertical			Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I bought this antenna about six months ago, based on it's stealthy design, and N6BT's reputation for excellent designs. Also, I have used the N6BT Bravo 5A in the past, and it was a great antenna. I assumed the EV-5R, the relay switched version of the EV-5K, would perform equally well. The antenna performs reasonably well on 10, 12 and 15 meters, however performance on 17 and 20 meters is poor. It is very difficult to tune on these two bands, particularly on 20 meters. In fact, when first installed and setup, the antenna would not tune to 20-meters. When set for 20 meters, the highest frequency the antenna would tune to with an SWR below 2.0:1 was about 12.7 MHz. It appears that the antenna too easily couples to the feedline, lowering its resonant frequency. I believe that the internal balun (current mode choke) has insufficient choking impedance at 20 and 17 meters. An additional external choke was needed to get the antenna to properly tune at the two lowest bands. I would have given this antenna a rating of 4, even with this issue, but give it a 2, primarily because of poor after-sales support and the lack of responses to my questions from the manufacturer.
