Digital O.K. , the rest is average or below average Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The receiver sensitivity is poor, and the audio level is low with bad quality on air bands, had to use an external speaker to try to improve the audio quality.
The digital side is O.K.
AOR listened and fixed some of the issues through updating the firmware , the last firmware I have is the 1907B firmware, Update date Dec. 2, 2019, since then no more updates posted on the AOR firmware page:

The AOR AR-DV1 still needs a lot of improvements , till that happens, it is not worth the money.

A lot of money for a poor receiver Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Very low sensitivity. The attenuator cannot be excluded.
The light remains ON even if the signal does not change.
The comparison with the previous AOR8600 is embarassing.
The decoding of the digital signals is acceptable

I'm sorry to have bought it Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Too expensive for what is worth
poor diplay, poor audio
needs 88-108 notch filters
not easy to use without programming software
absence of many modes :drm, fm rds, dab, ecc.
I do not recommend to anyone

Expensive but worth it Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Running the latest firmware 1610B, very sensitive and selective receiver both in analogue and digital modes. Scan is slower in digital modes however I suppose this is to be expected because of the additional processing required. So far succesfully decoded DStar, DMR, dPMR, and C4FM. Still looking for other modes to try especially now it supports TETRA. Fairly easy to use without programming software but ARC DV1 PRO makes it very quick and easy to use, copying and pasting from on-line frequency lists. Don't regret buying for a second. Plenty of scope for more enhancements AOR, what about DRM, DAB and DAB+ for a start.

Poor value at the moment Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I had had high hopes for the DV1 after all the hype! but what a let down.perhaps some of the deficiencies will be sorted with future updates. its not even good as a standard scanner let alone digital.as regards scanning its all or nothing! the only way round it is to lock out those channels you dont want to listen to, you cant do a select scan as with most other scanners.and as for digital channels it scans painfully slowly, about 2 channels a second i would say ,if that.build quality is not great either, wobbly knobs and vfo shake as well.as for the display its awful. the guide is quite vague in places also.is it worth the high price, definately not!! i would say its worth about half the price asked. save your money and wait for Uniden or someone else to have a better go.

Absolutely amazing! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
It's quite sensitive and very selective! The wide range of options is impressive and that DSP rivals that of my Kenwood 480SAT (for noise reduction). It decodes the digital with ease and the software updates make it better and better - and more stable also! Yes, it's a bit pricey but well worth every penny!!
