Modified DL4YHF Keyer Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Before attempting to key my vintage KWM-2A, I tried to find some data on the output spec of the keyer. I could not find any. On inspection of the PC board, I discovered that the keyer directly keys the output line from the 16F84 PIC chip. The DL4YHF and most keyers drive an outboard transistor with a high voltage and current capability sufficient for most transmitters - older keyers used a reed relay. If you try to key some transmitters with this keyer, you will blow the internal transistor in the PIC and you will need to buy a new one.

A waste of money! Received defective. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I received my Mx-K2 today 2/17/22.
It's defective. Shake it and something rattles. The speed control knob won't turn. Not sending it back it will cost more than its worth. I should have known better.
We need to go back to American made!
Also, no instructions of any kind.

Partial clone of others from 1999 to 2011 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I don't disagree with the other reviews, but they are not the full story. This is a Chinese partial clone of keys which have been around a long time. Look for instruction manuals and circuits on the websites of DL4YHF and IZ4KBS. Listed for many prices on Banggood.com and elsewhere. Caveat emptor. Instructions that came with mine were about the worst Chinglish I have seen.

Good value for basic keyer Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought this keyer for about $25 off Amazon about a year ago. I finally tried it out. It works really well. It has a couple of memories and you record what you want via your key amd push the button amd it is in the keyer. To play it back, you hit the button. It is a nice simple memory keyer in a durable little case and would be great for portable use for calling CQ. ... A few weeks later: The major objection I have with the keyer is that the buttons are so small they poke your fingers. I cut some small pieces of felt and taped them over the buttons to give them a softer touch. It worked.

Value for money Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
My MX-K2 has just arrived and I tested it with a couple of my HF transceivers (FT-897D and FX-9A).

What I like:
- it is well built,
- nice form factor,
- two memories are very flexible and easy to use.

What I don't like:
- its max. speed, you can't reach high WPM (roughly, it can reach up to 30 WPM),
- you have to remove the front plate and pull out the PCB in order to change batteries,
- sound of the buzzer is a little bit annoying, and you have to pull out the PCB to remove the jumper and switch it off (it is not reachable from outside).

All in all, good value for money, and I'll use it for portable operation for sure.

A new keyer from China Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was pleasantly surprised at the form and function of this new item. I've used it for the past week on my Qrp rigs.
As far as I know, it is found only on eBay. The front panel is marked "MX-K2 CW Keyer".It features a speed control and 2 memory bank messaging buttons . On the rear are paddle input and output jacks.
The written description is encyclopedic and somewhat difficult to grasp. But the basic functions are easily learned: speed control and memory banks.
Here's hoping for more complete reviews from new buyers.
But I'm quite happy with this electronic keyer.
So far, the only problem is removing the 4 teensy front panel screws in order to install the 2 AA batteries. You'll need a tiny eye-glass Phillips head screwdriver and good eyesight.
