Pure Pleasure and top quality Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just recieved my Kent TP-1. Purchased from AES (http://www.aesham.com). It's absolutely great. The quality shows before the box is opened. Very thick cardboard box. Then you see the key. Absolute quality. After adding a jack I and taking about 5 minutes to adjust it I was on the air making contacts. Still need to fine tune the adjustments but it was a pure pleasure to operate. If you are into CW this is a key to seriously consider. I will use this key just as much as my G4PZY key if not more!

My paddle of choice Time Owned: unknown months.
Of the paddles in my collection [Nye Viking SSK, Vibroplex Square Racer, Vibroplex Iambic and the R.A. Kent Iambic Double Paddle], the Kent Double Paddle is my operating key of choice.

Kent emphasises the quality, workmanship and attention to detail that I expect. The movement (sealed bearings) is smooth and solid on the desk.

Kent Iambic Paddle Time Owned: unknown months.
I just got my new Kent paddle, and made my first QSO's with it after 30 years with the same old Brown Brothers paddle. This is a great little machine. It's solid as a rock, sits still on the bench, the adjustments are smooth, and the action is very crisp and defined. I love this thing. Now if I could get my fingers working better ! On a side note, I sent a check to AES in Milwaukee on Saturday (the 11th) and the paddle arrived today, excellent turn-around time !

The Kent Iambic Double Paddle is a beautiful piece Time Owned: unknown months.
I bought a Vibroplex Blue Racer, and was bitterly disappointed in the quality of finish and poor workmanship of it. I sent it back, and ordered a Kent Iambic Double Paddle. Now THIS is workmanship. This is obviously a product someone takes pride in building. The quality is superb. It is silky smooth, solid as a rock, and I know I am going to love it for years. As I hope Vibroplex learns, just having the name does not mean anything, unless there is true value and quality behind it.

Single-paddle Kent is smooth Time Owned: unknown months.
Pity the poor ham who never learned to handle dual-paddles! My first keyer used a single strip of springy metal between two screw-contacts, and so I never learned to use an iambic keyer. Therefore when I decided on a new paddle, I went for the Kent single (purchased as a kit at Dayton). I have been most pleased with its smooth, easy feel, as well as its "no-wander" heavy metal base. After about 5 years service, my Kent paddle started getting persnickety, but a quick burnishing of the contacts with nothing more than a piece of heavy paper and it's di-dah-ing as smooth as ever!

nice soft feel Time Owned: unknown months.
Have used various paddles over the years and find the feel of the Kent next to none.

Best "bang for the buck" Time Owned: unknown months.
I have many keys, bugs and paddles and I use the Kent dual lever paddle in my mobile installation. Even though it really gets bounced around, the Kent never goes out of adjustment and has a real positive feel. I think I paid less than $100 about 3 years ago for the kit at Dayton.

Mid grade paddle Time Owned: unknown months.
Nice paddle for mobile operation. Heavy, stays put, and nothing to fly apart. But it certainly doesn't have the precise feel of the WBL, and it costs more too.

Nice paddles Time Owned: unknown months.
I have three vibroplexes, one Ten-Tec, a Bencher, and the Kent. I find that the Kent has the best feel. It's the one I use most often.

I also have a Kent straight key, and consider it one of the best I have used in 46 years on CW.

Quality, but harsh. Time Owned: unknown months.
The Kent key is well made, but has a hard feel. My fingers are sore after using it for several hours. And I set a key to move imperceptibly and touch it very gently. I'll choose something else, but you may well like it!
