This remote breathes new life into a classis rig. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have a TR-7 that has sat on the shelf for years, used sparingly. Having built a DDS vfo for my old tube crystal controlled rigs, I was happy to learn about the Noble Radio NRV7 Remote. Last week I bought one and have been amazed at the digital flexibility and stability it has brought to my TR-7. I work CW only and the NRV7 fits me perfectly. Frank, WB2UJS, was extremely helpful in getting me up to speed with the remote. Thanks Frank! I highly recommend this remote to owners of the Drake TR-7.

I have modern radios at the shack, but it is not the same. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I discovered the Noble Radio NRV7B when trying to find a DDS for my 7 Line (composed by a TR7, R7, MS7).

Installation and setup were at the first attempt.

Just a few minutes to connect the band control to the DR-7 board.

Instructions are very clear.

All cables are included.

CAT control allows me to pilot the TR7 via Omnirig from the HB9DRV SDR-RADIO, injecting the antenna signal from the transceiver external receiver output.

At the same time LOG4OM follows and also control de TR7 frequency.

The built-in speech processor makes easy to drive a KPA500 amp with 40 W to full output.

Winkey is also a nice add-on to modernize this lovely radio.

Communication with Frank (WB2UJS) is fast and clear.

I have modern radios at the shack, but it is not the same.

It might be considered an expensive accessory, but it is worth to have it here.

Excellent addition to a classic radio. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I own two Drake TR7's and they both drift. The newer one, a TR7A has been back to the factory for a complete rehab and it still drifts.
The solution is the NRV7 remote digital VFO.

It has too many features to list here but for my use, I appreciate the DDS based VFO and the second USB port to allow freq control with logging or similar programs. In my case it is using the built in sound card with the digital program HRD. It also has a built in electronic keyer that can be controlled by the PS/2 interface for your keyboard.

I have found the NRV7 controlled TR7A to be rock steady. The unit is beautifully built and matches the TR7 rigs very well. It truly extends the life of the Drake classic for this station.

Bring your TR-7 alive! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
For all of you Drake TR-7 lovers this is a must have. I was skeptical at first because let's face it $500 is a lot of money. This baby is worth every penny - rock solid VFO, you can work split freq, RIT,electronic keyer built in and works digital modes like a dream come true. Also 20 memory channels and a 7 digit freq readout. If you're into contesting this will allow rig control with winlog32 and probably other similar programs.
