Have had this book on the shelf for over a year. Just couldn't get the study mojo going. Finally, beginning this month, I opened and began to study. Yes, I know many say it is just memorization. So what? If you look at many of the questions they have to do with capacitors, inductance, gates, or other parts that would be involved in constructing equipment. I am not building squat. I want to operate. In 2-3 weeks, I had studied enough that on the practice exams I would only miss 0-3. On the day of testing, I missed one. To those that study the ARRL guides: Great. More power to you.

You'll pass but you won't have learned or understand any of it Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is not a "learning style", it's just plain old short-term memorization cramming. It will allow you to temporarily recall enough to get you through the Amateur Extra (or other) exam, but you won't actually have learned *anything* at Amateur Extra level; except how to temporarily regurgitate the correct multiple choice answer like a parrot.

I guarantee that shortly after passing the exam, you won't remember *any* of it and will therefore have learned nothing and will understand nothing at the level of Amateur Extra.

Passed my Extra on September 11,2021. This book, Ham Test Online, and eHam.nets practice tests made it easy. From Tech to Extra in 10 months, very satisfied and happy old man.

I picked up Craig Buck K4IA's The Easy Way guide to the Tech exam about 6 weeks ago.

4 weeks ago today I passed my Tech exam and received my call sign.

After a few days off, I grabbed the General Class guide and a week ago, I passed that exam.

Started the next day with the Extra Class guide and last night - one month to the day after getting my first ticket, I passed the Extra exam!

Bottom line, these books work. If you want to pass the tests quickly, get them.

The easiest way to study for Extra exam. Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I bought the ARRL manual, there was way too much information in there for me to remember. (I use the manual for reference only now.) I looked on Amazon for a better study option and found this book. It helped me study for the exam using memorization. It uses hints and "cheats" to help you remember the answers for the exam. When I took my test, I got 48/50! This book will undoubtedly help you pass the exam! Buy it and save yourself the stress of studying using the ARRL manual! Highly recommended!!

This book gives you the exam questions with the theory, like the all do, but this adds another element.

It gives you mnemonics to remember ideas, or associations that assists in remembering the answer along with theory.

Some might not learn this way, but I did.

I highly recommend this book along with his others in his collection

This is pure genius.

I have been struggling with publications and study guides and practice tests and flash cards and all kinds of junk for over a year.

This Extra Class publication came to my attention by way of Amazon, and I ordered it straightaway, after reading briefly about the approach (the right answers will pop out at you). It made perfect sense.

I opened the package from Amazon at 2:00 PM today, and studied the E1 material in its entirety. I then went against the author's recommendation and tested myself with a practice exam, but only on the E1 questions.

Perfect score. Nailed every one. And it's only 4:00PM.

I will happily Post my exam result after I pass Extra, which in my estimation should happen sometime in February of this year. After that, I'll be buying the author's other publications and singing his praises to my fellow Hams.

This is the best approach that I've ever seen to learning. The ARRL book was too cumbersome and I threw it away. This book is superb. I got a perfect score too. Kudos to the author.

I finished reading Bucks DX the Easy Way so I went to his website and saw that he was coming out with an extra class study guide. I emailed him and he said it would be available in a day or two. A day later I ordered it on Amazon.

There are many study guides available but what I like about his is that it follows the question pool. Where needed,he gives hints as to the correct answers. Everyone has there preference on how to study and for me his book works. IMHO you can't go wrong. I'm a "book" guy so his guide along with
the NEVEC question pool works for me. I also use the ARRL license manual as a reference for the areas I don't understand.
