> I am proud owner of antenna 3040MDY4 from production of EAntennas company. I interrupt my activity on HF bands in 2009 where I spent over 50 years of HAM life. I went to EME operation on 6m and 2m bands. I decided last year to go back to HF just for fun to make some call on one. I studied all news about antennas because technology went forward during the time I was out. I decided finely for 40m and 30m bands to buy coils shortened antenna from EAntennas firm their model 3040MDY4 which has 2+2 elements ( only ) for these bands. Antenna is very small compare antennas what I had in use before from 60th last century. Antenna came from factory very soon and my first surprise was to see how perfectly was antenna packed. I opened parcels and every part of antenna was nicely packed again. Instruction manual was written intelligible. During antenna assembly which was easy I was surprised second times because in spite of a lot of screws which had to be put together I did not find any hole which would make a problem. Every hole clicked together with counterpart shortly amazing and pleasure assembling this antenna. I finally put antenna on the tower and simply tuned to CW part of 40m band and on centre of 30m band. Of course on 40m band antenna do not cover whole band but my Expert 2k simply managed this situation. The SWR on tuned frequency is 1:1,03 on both bands. As I said before I wanted to have antenna for making a call from time to time only and I did not expect too much from only 2 shortened elements. Antenna is situated at 34 meters high. What was my third surprise again, I did not call mostly 2 times and long DXes where reached for 1st call. How could only shorten 2 elements working so well I told myself ? When I count antenna size, design, precise rendering, performance and price of course I must award to > the 4030MDY4 antenna number valuation 5 . > > > > >
