Works well Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Few years ago, I tried an end-fed antenna based on the popular design that utilizes a 9:1 transformer and a shorter element. That was a big disappointment. So I have stayed away from any end-fed antennas. But after reading the review on QST, I decided to try it.

The installation was way easier compared to the 80m-10m trap dipole I had up before. On 80m and 40m, EFHW-8010 performed very well compared to the trap dipole, probably over 80% of times EFHW-8010 was noticeably better. On 20m, one sometimes outperformed the other, but I would say 50:50. The dipole was better about 80% of times on 15m and 10m, but it still performed okay.

Considering its ease of installation and decent performance, I am very satisfied with it.

Excellent way to get 30 meters Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I got this antenna to replace an 80 meter OCF dipole as I wanted something that would also cover 30 meters. I put it up as an inverted V with the ends at about 15 ft and the high point at around 35 ft.

So far I've used it on 80-40-30-20 and it works at least as well as the OCFD plus I get 30, no tuning required.

It's well constructed and Danny is quick to answer questions.

I'm a big fan of end fed resonant antennas and they are a better fit for my property than standard dipoles. I have used PAR, HyEnd and now this one. All are great and each has a place in my collection.

works well for one antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The EFHW-8010 has 8 bands and they all work! Have the antenna 7' up at the fed point. 25' at the far end an 42' at its high point all SWR readings are as the paper work states. Compared to my resonont dipoles an my MQ26 mini beam the 8010 is down about half as much as a G5RV. on 75&40m. That makes this a good antenna in my book, low noise on receive and about 2S units down on 75 & 40m from my rosoneat dipoles used for 75m & 40m. With the tuner in my FT9000D it will work from 3.5 to 4.0 on 40m it will do the same, much of it with out the use of a tuner, This antenna is hard to see in the air an am getting 8+ bands, 130' of wire.........I have no problem giving this antenna a 5 the antenna will also go out off the HAM bands pull in SW stations and the broad cast band as well........neat antenna for not many $ in 2016...............kb6hrt

Best End Fed Half Wave Antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
i picked up my EFHW8010 from Danny at the hamfest in Orlando . I set it up at 45 feet in the same orientation and height as my modified G5RV (ZS6BKW) which is 97 feet long vs EFHW 130 foot long. SWR on the EndFed was 1.6 or below..1.2 on several bands as measured by my RigExpert 54 analyzer. Feed point needs to be up about 12 feet. The A/B test revealed the following :

On 80 and 40 meters it out performs the G5RV by 1-2.5 S units. Actually a KILLER on 40 meters. On the other bands it is rarely down, mostly equal and sometimes better than my G5RV. I routinely run 600 watts. This unique design with a 50:1 transformer, and NO LOSSES measured by AARL lab in this month's QST review of the antenna make it thee choice for an enfed with no tuner needed. Thank you Danny for a job well done ! This antenna is a KEEPER ! Try to get it up at 45 feet for best results.

Have been using verticals since I got my license. I received the EFHW a couple of weeks ago and ran it from the top my house south the my shop bldg.
Antenna is about 25 feet high at feed end and about 20 at the south end. My noise level compared to the verticals is substantially less. This is a great antenna!!!!

Great antenna for low bands Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have been using the EFHW for about a month. It is in the trees at 45 feet, running horizontal, running east west. I have tried the antenna on all the bands between 80 and 10. Above 30 it does not work as well as my dipoles. On 40 and 30 I use a DX engineering 30-40 vertical, with 20 radials. I have a 80 dipole at 60 feet also running east and west. All of my operating is Digital PSK, JT65, JT9.
On 80,40 and 30 the EFHW works as well if not better than my other antennas. It seems like the marginal signals (-21 to -24 db)seems to look a little stronger on the waterfall display. On 80,40 and 30 the swr is below 1.3 to 1.
Mechanically the antenna is well made.

Good Quality, Good Design Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just WOW. Ordered my EFHW-8010 on a Friday night, shipped on Saturday, arrived on Monday, hung it up on Tuesday. Feedpoint under the house eave at the peak (35ft), then a straight shot out to a tall Western Hemlock in the woods behind the back yard. Grounded (counterpoised?) as suggested; added a 8×8 coaxial air choke on the feedline by habit. Fired up the rig and the EFHW was < 1.4 across on all bands less 30M (~2:1), but my old IC-765's autotuner knocked that instantly down to 1.1:1.

Called CQ with 5 watts on JT-65A. Sao Paulo, Brazil answered at -4dB. 11,000 km from my QTH.

What else needs to be said? Quality construction. Excellent sales fulfillment. Delivers performance as promised. Virtually stealth; unless you look for it, you don't know it's there. It's a keeper.

Fantastic Antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Have used end fed antennas since being licensed in 2012. Bought this antenna to cover the 40/80 meter band. I have it in an inverted V configuration, with the apex being at about 45 feet. This end fed wire system has surpassed all others that I have had. Very well made, and structurally sound. Does very well on 40 meters , and spectacular on 80 meters. I have even made contacts on 160. I wish, I had purchased this antenna back in 2012. If you have the chance, buy one. You won't regret it.

Best End Fed antenna used to date! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I purchased the EFHW-8010 1K in September 2015 based on a review from eham. I was a little skeptical that you could work all bands with out the use of a tuner but was willing to give it a try and at $125 it would not break the bank. When the antenna arrived I set it up as an inverted V about 22’ in the center and had a 1.5 swr or less across all bands. I quickly made QSOs in 6 different states in less than 10 minutes. I moved it around to several different locations and finally decided to put it as a sloper in the top of a pine tree that was about 60’ again with a 1.5 swr or less across the all bands. Turned on the radio and made another approx. 20 QSOs. Signal reports were always 5/7-5/9. Unfortunately when removing it from the pine tree, I got into a hurry and snagged it and damaged the wire. I contacted “My Antennas” and told them what had happened and they sent out a new wire immediately at a great deal. This is a must have antenna and if you like to move around a lot requires less equipment in the field to get damaged. I will always have one of these in my inventory!

So far, so good Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
All I had before was a Vert. antenna tuned for 40 meters, and it also covered 15 meters quite well, but I wanted more bands without the need for a tuner. The MyAntennas.com EFHW-8010-1K delivered. I have yet to install the ground, but my FT-897D is not complaining at all. I have it of course in a horizontal configuration, running pretty much North and South and I have made some wonderful QSOs in several countries and all over the USA s well. While I have yet to see a model of the radiation pattern, I have gotten some surprising RST reports from stations that I could hardly hear. For instance a station in South Africa that I had 2x2 copy no reported me as being 4x4. I may try getting a second EFHW and run it at a 90 degree angle to see if I can pull in other stations but of course I need an antenna switch first.
