An outstanding product. Excellent performance. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have previously been a devoted fan and user of W2IHY's audio processing products but a summer lightning storm sent them to audio heaven. Later on I ran across UR6QW's ad on his web site and investigated. At the price Sergey was offering how could I resist? His Model 5 was received here a week after it was ordered from the Ukraine. I am using it with a Heil PR-781 mic hooked up with a XLR to 3.5mm TRS plug cable. There is also an 8 pin Foster mic jack on the front panel next to the 1/8" mic jack. The processed audio output feeds my Yaesu FTDX-5000 which is normally set for 3 KHz transmit bandwidth. I am constantly getting unsolicited comments on how good the audio sounds. In the accompanying User Guide Sergey provides two sets of settings to try, one for DX and one for ESSB. They both work very well for me. The 8-band EQing, Compression, Noise Gating, optional Reverb effect, and level controls all work smoothly and provide a wide range of control over your audio signature. The overall build quality of the product is very good considering the price - only $130.00 plus $20.00 for shipping. The unbeatable price includes a connecting cable matched for the make/model of your transceiver. You need to provide your own 12Vdc wall wart to power the unit. Sergey is very pleasant to deal with and quick to answer via email any questions you may have regarding his products.

UR6QW 8 band EQ V5 Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This may well be the best bang for your buck in amateur radio. The noise gate arguably performs better than the comparable competing equipment,....at 1/2 the price.

Build quality and customer service is second to none.

Sergey, the owner and designer answered my questions in a matter of moments.

This is the first review I've ever done, due to this amateur built top notch product.

UR6QW 8 Band Equalizer V5 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I found this product for a lucky case by doing research on the internet. Not only is it cheaper than others but it is also of high quality and is also beautiful. Sergey was very courteous and quick to respond. I'm really happy with my Heil Sound PR781 and its equalizer, I bought the version I bought the version V5 for my Icom IC7610. My interlocutors make spontaneous compliments.
Great Sergey, great work guy!!!

Excellent, Professional product Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I needed a simple way to tailor the audio gain and frequency response of my beloved Heil HC4 and HC5 Mic elements for compressed audio to my Icom IC-7610. For a reasonable price, Sergey builds an 8 band Equalizer with an adjustable output, compression and low noise amplifier that also lets you tailor the precise frequencies of your transmit audio you wish to emphasize or remove. Sergey himself is excellent to work with before and after your purchase. The equipment is professionally designed and has a high quality look and feel to it. I purchased the Icom IC-7300 model (also works great on the Icom IC-7610) so I can directly connect my Heil Proset Plus with the 1/8'' jack, as well as a foot-switch with a 1/4'' jack to the equalizer. This removes the need to use an Icom specific mic plug on the radio, the equalizer already has that connection. Power for the equalizer also comes from the radio so it truly is plug and play. I contacted Sergey because I prefer not to run the built-in noise gate, ever - and he promptly provided instructions with a photograph on how to permanently disable it. You will have an awful lot of fun with this product, and I am just getting started!! Thank you, Sergey!

Works great with my TS-850 Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Best $135.00 I ever spent on ham radio equipment. I get excellent audio reports. Fast shipping from the Ukraine.
If I have any questions, Seregy, the manufacturer will respond asap. Thank you Sergey for a GREAT product.

Very nice product Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Using the 8-band EQ with a Kenwood TS850S. There is a noticeable difference in the TX audio quality using the EQ. However, I hear artifacts in the audio from the noise gate. It sounds like a "chuffing" sound when the gate opens and closes. Adjusting the noise gate level has no effect to eliminate the problem. Wondering if anyone else is having the same issue.

I would like to see a bypass switch on the unit, and an LED to show the unit is powered on. Other than that, I'm very happy with it.

Works great Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
When I first hooked it up I thought it was not working, then I thought about the controls and I was making a simple mistake. You have to turn up the output. It works great with my IC-7300. I get great audio reports and it is very easy to adjust from DX to Rag chew settings. I get fantastic audio reports on my audio. The ICOM IC-7300 has great audio, this makes it better.

Receiving great compliments on my Tx audio. Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
There isn't a whole lot wrong with the IC-7300 transmitted audio with the stock mic, but given the fact that the TXBW is limited to 100-2900 Hz on the IC-7300, I wanted to make as much of that as I could.
I found the IC-7300 version of the UR6QW equaliser on eBay, read around some reviews and ordered one from Sergey. I have not regretted this decision.
If you want to read my full experience with this equaliser, with settings for different types of microphones I've experimented with, please see my blog post here
