2021 recent model - AWESOME SDR Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently received this from Paul at ELAD-USA this week. So, only had it a few days. Have not run in full SDR mode- yet! I wanted to try it with the "stand-alone" mode first. 9kHz to 54MHz coverage.

First impressions: WELL built and solid - no cheap parts here! Lots of extra fuses and cables, for use on interfacing, plus USB stick with firmware and manual.

This radio is VERY sensitive! It grabs serious DX - I mainly bought it for SWL and MW BCB Dxing, but even using the other night on 160m, I had more stations on this rig than I have heard ever using some of my others, incl. my R75 which is a V. GOOD receiver.

Interface is simple and effective. AGC and NR are excellent and the radio digs deep. I am using with a WellBrook ALA-100LN-M active amp w/ a 4.84m hexagonal aperiodic loop antenna (my design on the loop).

MW is nuts in the antenna, and I have to run 10dB Attn to not overload the ADC. On March 3/4 evening, MW due to some sporadic E had 530kHz coming in from Cuba, two stations: one, R. Rebelde, a 1kW stn, and the other, R. Enciclopedia, a 10kW Latin jazz and classical stn. the Brampton ON 250W ethnic station (CHLO), was solid to 2300 CST, when the latin stations just boomed in. Solid, nearly local copy - best I have heard - LOW noise floor - something very nice to see that low on the band...

The rest of the evening last night was going around the BCB MW band and almost every 10kHz, I had often >6 to 8 (sometimes maybe 10-12 or more?) Stations all on top of each other. Good conditions, but also LOW noise floor in this rig really grabs the weaker stuff. It WILL be a LOT of fun!

I will update this later in a couple of weeks once I run the SDR software, but even standalone, this thing is red hot!

One minor beef (?) - Aux output should be on the rear, instead of being on the front panel. FYI, running this using a 12VDC, 1A linear wall adapter, and it is fine with this.

BTW - NO speaker with radio! You need the SP-1 or other accessory speaker to monitor without headphones in standalone mode.

Great little machine Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Hi to all,

for those who love the LF beacons or VLF frequencies like 17.2 kc from SAQ, this receiver will be a great choice.

If you like the WFM broadcast band: Add the filterboard
and enjoy!
This receiver kicks my old and beautiful Revox tuner down to the ground.
Sensivity and filter curves at all bands are superb.
DSP sound is perfect.
The sound from the internal speaker is good for its size.

The great advantage is the standalone mode for use without a computer.
Fantastic receiver and worth every cent.
