German Engineering at its best Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had my BamaTech paddle for just over a year now, and in all that time I've never had to adjust its settings. Its unusual design means it can be used as a /P paddle as well as in the shack.

Its expensive, but in my opinion its worth it. Precision german engineering at its best. In my opinion it is better than a Palm Mini for /P use, and better than a Kent key in the shack.

Markus is a really great guy to do business with.

I posted an overview of my experience with the paddle on the 'articles' page of my website.

High precision, beautiful piece and well worth what it costs. Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
The Bamakey TP-II Twin Paddle telegraph key is a key with two paddles that can operate in iambic mode, if desired. It is designed for use both in the field and in the radio room.

It is manufactured in Germany by BaMaTech Feinmechanik - Inh. Markus Baseler - DL6YYM.

The BamaKey TP-II is a piece of high precision that combines Mini Bearings with magnetic adjustment, contacts silver and hard gold, with adjustment of tension and career or opening between pallets very sensitive. And although it comes pre-adjusted it can be adapted to almost any taste; in my case I closed the opening or race as much as possible, until I was so sensitive to the touch that it is enough to touch the paddles gently to transmit comfortably and without fatigue at speeds of 25 to 30 ppm. Experts can transmit at higher speeds and beginners can use it at 5 ppm or less.

The housing is made of hard anodized aluminum and all the pieces are chromed brass, resulting in a beautiful piece that is complemented by an optional base in chromed brass with a weight of 400 grams. with magnets that firmly hold the key for use on the desk.

Since all the moving parts are covered by transparent Plexiglas, its maintenance is very simple, it is enough to pass a clean and soft cloth to remove the dust from the cover and that's it!

There is no need to worry about adjusting it constantly or having parts that could come loose as is common in certain brands.

Well worth what it costs.

Markus Baseler, DL6YYM sends worldwide and your attention is cordial, your answers timely and at all times is pending delivery and questions.

Excellant, quality, smooth functioning paddle Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I second excellent rating of the previous two reviews of the BaMaKey TP-II. It is a compact, lightweight iambic paddle well suited for portable operations. When attached to the optional magnetic base plate it also serves well in the shack on the desk. The entire mechanism including adjustment screws are covered and protected from accidental maladjustment as well as from dust and dirt. I am very impressed by the its clever design, high quality of construction, and very smooth action. In addition, Markus, DL6YYM, the designer/manufacturer in Germany is very responsive to emails and had my order on its way by registered mail the next day.

High quality German engineering Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I was lucky enough to grab one of the bordeaux colored ones which seem to be selling out very quickly. Communication with Markus went very smoothly and he kindly addressed every of my questions.
The key, as already stated, is beautifully crafted and lends itself most to portable operations because of its weight and smaller size. Since I am using mine in the shack, I decided to order the magnetic base plate with it (a nice shiny piece of chrome plated brass with rounded corners and indents on the front and back).
Operation has been flawless and although the paddles are indeed somewhat smaller than others they are surprisingly easy and effortless to work with.
I very much like how everything is protected/covered making maintenance very easy, just take the dust of with a cloth and that is it, no need to use a brush to get between parts that are usually exposed on top of the base plate.
Can it be improved? Not really however I personally prefer a heavier base, doubling the thickness thereof (currently about 8 mm) would provide a touch more stability and comfort (depending upon ones sending style). May be a future option?

sturdy, compact, reliable, beautiful piece of equipment Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I returned to the hobby about a year and a half ago and operate almost exclusively CW. I operate mostly /p (esp. SOTA). I use paddles and a bug. The BaMaKey TP-II is my third pair of paddles, and I can strongly endorse the BaMaKey as a hybrid portable/base-station key. Its smooth movement, zero maintenance, general reliability, and versatility have made it my favorite all-purpose key.
For portable use, its strengths are its sturdiness and compact design. It fits easily in one hand, and it has no exposed moving parts (other than the paddles themselves of course). I operate it either held in one hand or strapped to my thigh with a bungee cord. Because everything is enclosed, I can toss it in my backpack with hardly a concern, and it’s small enough to fit into a pants pocket if needs be. Because of the enclosure I also don’t worry about dirt getting into the movement.
The key has an optional base plate that the key fits into smoothly and tightly. This adds almost a pound to the key’s heft, and thus enhances its usability at home. A key exclusively for shack use would ideally be bigger, particularly the paddles for example.
Lastly, a word to the craftsmanship and customer service: outstanding. This is a serious piece of precision engineering, and its appearance is mighty impressive. I consider the key appropriately priced. I had some email exchanges with the key's designer and producer - Markus, DL6YYM – and can report that customer service is friendly, prompt, and helpful. I purchased the key while on business in Germany, but he’s able to ship the BaMaKey worldwide.
