Description:
SDR-Radio.com is a Windows console for Software Defined Radio (SDR) receivers and transceivers that provides a powerful interface for all SDR users. The software is being continually developed with new features added on a regular basis. This software supports radios from most major manufacturers, simple sound card radios such as SoftRocks, RTL based dongles like the FUNcube Dongles, Si570 chip receivers, and several other SDR receivers from Ettus, ELAD, and other manufacturers.

It's pretty good but not quite there yet. Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I got an RSP-dx back a few months. A good friend recommended that I try SDRUno for a while then try SDR-Console. SDR-Console is his preferred SDR software.

In many ways, SDR-Console agrees with me more than SDR-Uno - I like the ergonomics better - but seems (and I could be wrong due to lack of experience) that there's too much 'canned', so it's hard to get in and change away from defaults, at least in a hurry when you're after an elusive signal.

I don't think there's been a time when I just couldn't get what I wanted out of the SDR when using SDR-Console but I'm guessing the developers and I don't think the same way and we have different ideas about how the application should interface to the user.

I haven't uninstalled SDR-Console and I'm going to keep getting updates. It's my 2nd choice for now.

100% better than SDr Uno Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I also keep coming back to Sdr Console after trying out other software especially after trying out various versions of SDR Uno which are still works in progress.

Just this weekend, March 16th, I tried out the new Sdr Uno V1.3 with scan added thinking that maybe, just maybe it would work but I was wrong again and I found the most recent SDR Uno to be just as bad as the older versions of SDR Uno so I went back to SDR Console which works great.

As mentioned above I wanted to Give SDR Uno a 2nd chance especially with the new V1.3 and scan but on 3 PC's under 3 different OS's, Win7, 8.1 and 10, the horid SDR Uno just locks up and is a PITA whereas SDR Console is a pleasure to use for everything from HF to Uwaves.

If I want a scanner then I'll use HDSDR and it's excellent scanner plugin with my reliable E4000 dongle.

Stay away from the Horrible SDR UNO software and stick with SDR Console unless you are a sadist and you like abuse.

Nice, but need improvement with External radio Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I keep coming back to SDR Console few times every year. I love the features and resolution. I stop using it every time as it does not work reliable with my setup. I have FT5000MP with IF out connected to SDR-IQ. It starts nicely, but occasionally stop responding to frequency change or band change.
I tried to change cat from 38400 to 19200 and 9600 with same results. I hope one day it can be resolved.

Sweet ! Thanks! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Really cool software application that serves as a user interface for many SDR receivers and transceivers. I use it to interface and operate an ELAD FDM-S2 SDR receiver as a panadapter (spectrum scope and waterfall display) for my transcreivers - either on a 9 MHz IF output, or on a shared antennaor input. I can monitor what is happening on the 9 MHz IF transceiver output, or run as a parallel receiver on a shared antenna or on a separate receive-only antenna.

Now in Beta development. 1) It works well with very few bugs, foibles, or issues. 2) It is free, so the price is right. Attractive, easy to use, visually pleasing user interface. Controls are well placed - you can use either or both the drop down MENU options, or the convenient one-level button bar - which give quick access to features, controls, and options - providing great flexibility in display and operation. There are many ways the user can modify, adjust, and tailor the UI to suit his taste and style of operation. For example, one can change colors, layout, re-size windows, and modify many of other settings - it is almost overwhelming - and one can easily revert the whole mess back to factory defaults and start over. Pretty cool.

The best bit is ... it is a clean easy to manage interface for a large number of SDRs. A friendly, helpful user discussion forum provides support - but I bet you won't need it !

Thanks - great stuff ! Of course, this is just MY take. K8JHR
