not bad but Time Owned: N.A.
The rotator has done ok turning a a6s 6ele 6m
12m dipole es a 9ele 2m beam..quite a lot of weight hi.
Had two switches collapse/disintegrate and luckily
had a couple spare frm a g400 es a diawa control box.
Be very careful not to change direction too quickly as this can burn out the switches.

OK, but could be better Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Have had my G-450 for few months now. Used to turn 30 foot mast (guyed) and Hexbeam HX5Bi antenna. Seemed to handle the load rather well (although I did upgrade the rotator to a G-1000DXA).

However, per KE4HBE and KQ6EA's experiences with the switches, I too had the exact same problems. CCW would often get stuck, and on two occassions the actual switches broke.

Switch replacement is not easy, especially through Yaesu. First, Yaesu customer service said the switches would be backordered 10 weeks. Second, they wanted lots of bucks for them.

Suggestion is to get the switches from Burghardt Amateur Radio...According to Burghardt they have seen this problem with the 450 on multiple occassions. I got replacement switches for about $8.00 apiece. Not cheap, but better than Yaesu.

great performer for price Time Owned: more than 12 months.
i have had my 450 up for over 4 years now and it fact have 12 sq feet of antennas on it.
it has lived thru some very high wind storms here. guess i am lucky as the only time i have
ever had a problem with it was one of the wires on the controller strip lost contact causing the
indicator dial to move full clockwise. the other two things i do are install a thrust bearing at
the top of the tower as well as twin shearing pins between the two drive mastings its cheaper to
replace the pins than a broken rotator.

works good Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Had rotator about 3 months when one of the rotation switches came apart, probally my fault (heavy handed- I break plastic forks all the time while eating) anyway, replaced with a momentary toggle switch and still searching for a replacement switch, other than that it works great.

Rotator Failed! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I did not have the success as reviewer below. Although the rotor works, the indicator on the control head will either be correct about 2% of the time or completely wrong 98% of the time. The 98% of the time is so far off, I have to look at the antenna to find the true direction. The scale is compressed into the first 40 degrees of indication for full rotation. The cable or a poor connection is not the problem. I will send the control head back to Yaesu. Oh well!
