Here to stay Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I was amazed when the courier delivered my 3000D .The box was very large and I saw why upon opening it .This is a monster of an ATU .It feels like a quality made piece of equipment and performs as good as it looks .This is one that will remain in my shack .I agree with the reviews below and can't really add anymore .

I know I'm restricted in power but I bought this for the quality and it was recommended to me ,If you are lucky enough to find one for sale , buy it or you'll regret it .

At last! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have kept a watch out for one of these for many years, I built my own T-match in about 1985 which has survived all these years but still wanted a CapCo. A 3000D turned up at a sensible price so I pounced on it. I am amazed how well the paint has survived all these years, the tuning capacitors are huge and would have cost me more than I paid for the ATU. A little tempted to convert it into a T-match (only needs one wire moving) but it is fine as it is, tuning capacitors have smooth slow motion drives on them and the roller coil has a turns counter. Very glad to have found one after all these years and it will be staying. A 40 year old piece of equipment that has only needed a washer replacing, a few loose screws tightening and a rubber foot replacing is a rare thing!

Beautifully Engineered matching unit Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've owned my SPC 3000D for several years. At one point I sold it to a very good friend. As soon as he stopped using it I purchased it back from him. It will not leave my possession again. A beautifully made matching unit with a very good matching impedance range. It has facility for coaxial, wire and balanced feed lines. Will just about handle anything that you can throw at it. 5Kv capacitors and a sprung mounted pick up on the roller inductor. Switching is done using relays internally, so not carboned up burned out switches that cannot be replaced.. I have a Palstar AT5K, which I purchased just weeks before acquiring the CAP.CO.
There is nothing that the 5K can match that the CAP.CO. Cannot also Match. I've often thought of selling the AT5K and
Sticking with the CAP.CO. I doubt that the 5K will out live the CAP.CO.. a real 'Belt n Braces' bit of kit..superb build quality second to none.. if you happen to have the opportunity to get one of these units,, grab it and run!!!
Mine will be pulled from my cold dead fingers!!!!
