Doofus Customer Service Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Tried one of these out. Nice, plain, commercial-style 2M mobile or desktop radio, good for EOC and ops where "feature" radios would cause operator confusion.

I'd give the radio a 4 or 5 on function, but:
Bridgecom customer service blew off my question regarding modification for MARS. OK- so you are not MARS, or don't need to expand the TX coverage in the BCM-144, 220, or 440.....even so, their customer service was poor; something to consider before buying.

Looks like it's going to be Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood or Alinco for our ops. Those companies, and most Ham Radio shops will furnish information on, or perform MARS extended transmit mods.

Great radio so-far Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just got this radio only a week ago so far it's great, Rx and Tx audio are just fine, scan works great. I do have it in my truck and am using a Yeasu mls-100 speaker. Very easy to switch between Vfo and memory modes.

BCM-144 Mobile Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Having used the BridgeCom BCM-220, I was impressed with the addition of the BCM-144 to their offerings. The radio is commercial grade, and a solid performer. Programming the radio can be accomplished used the keys on the microphone, including performing some adjustments to parameters other than the frequencies of choice. For easier setup of the operating frequencies, BCM Programming Software is available. This software works with all three of the BCM Radios. During recent contacts and some net operation, the BCM-144 performed well. Audio reports were very good, and received audio was very good. With the built in front panel speaker and 4 watts of audio, it certainly outperformed some others I have. The BCM-144 has the look and feel of a good solid commercial radio. Bridgecom support has been excellent.
