Easy To Deploy Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This 6 section telescopic mast is a perfect size and weight. One really needs to look at the top section to know what you are purchasing - this one is 1.02 inches. So, it is not flimsy. However, it is not built to hold an HF beam. The weight is 6.8 lbs. housed in a 4 ft. 9 .5 inch long - 2.165 inch diameter base and it is also the carrying case with end caps. I attached a para-cord between the end caps to carry over my neck. No photo really shows it's true look of military green. To deploy, one needs to pull off the non-base end cap and toss out horizontally. Then lock each section in place by turning it into its mating section. After that, just put the base on the ground and lift up. It is easy enough that a 72 age old man had no trouble at all. It is actually a little harder to take down. When you get the mast horizontally on the ground again, start unlocking the sections at the base 1st and slide each larger section into the base with care. Not all at once! My advise to you is to not get greedy when ordering fiberglass masts maximum heights. If you do, the top section may not be strong enough to hold up your antenna even if it is just a wire.
