Good but confirmations confusing Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I like eQSL and use them for all my QSOs. I also happily use LoTW, but that's another topic.

The only issue I have with eQSL is that they confuse the notions of sending a QSL with confirming a QSL. I can send a QSL and the other op confirms it; we both get credit for the QSO with eQSLs. The other op can then send me a QSL for the same QSO and I have to confirm it. Why? Most ops do not do this, but some do; I suspect it might be the result of doing things in bulk and not taking into account what has gone on before. If the first transaction confirmed, why do we have to do it a second time. Can't the eQSL software detect this event and somehow block it in a friendly manner? Many QSLs in my account are DUPES in this sense. It also messes up the counts. They do need to straighten this out and come up with a firm, crisp, and easy to understand set of rules (that actually make sense).

Again this comment is in the way of a "nit" that should be corrected and not in any way a "showstopper" for my use and enjoyment of this service.

SUCKS Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I whole heartedly agree with KA3NXN. Just because there is more than one way to QSL does not make it mandantory for me to use it. I tried eQSL for several weeks in two different years thinking it would get better. I do not like it and I will not use it. I QSL via direct mail OR via my regular email with a QSL file attachment. If you can't cope with that, then work some one else in Kentucky for your W.A.S. or whatever. One specific problem was I could not delete QSL confirmation requests from the LIARS out there who did not REALLY WORK MY STATION.

A Good Alternate To Paper Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This system does exactly what it was designed to do, and does it very well!

It was not ment to compete with LoTW, and if you read the information on the home page, it TELLS you it is not accepted by the ARRL for awards.

It is quite secure concerning confirmations. If you receive a qsl that is not in your log, the system tells you that, and offers you a way to confirm it or deny confirmation. DUH! What's more secure than that? If you choose to confirm things without a log entry, that's your problem, not the system's, and you're the one compromising it's validity.

If you use it, and discover that you prefer paper, or LoTW, that's cool. Use them instead. But why do you then downgrade the rating for this system because you prefer something else.

As for me, I like it.

I'm not an awards collector, so could care less about ARRL acceptance. Heck, I haven't even applied for the eqsl awards (hi).

If I get an attractive card from someone, I can download/print it, can't do that on the "other" system.

For me, this system does all it was designed to do. In fact, I no longer use LoTW due to the convaluted re-newal process, which in my case didn't work.

And no, I'm not connected to eqsl in any way other then a satisfied user.

Can't compete with LoTW Time Owned: more than 12 months.
After 2 years of DXing with all the qsos entered to both eQSL and LoTW, eQSL has resulted to:
- about 20% less confirmed DXCCs than LoTW
- about 20% less confirmed US states than LoTW

And I can't even use the eQSL confirmations to the ARRL awards (DXCC, WAS) unlike LoTW.

I stick to LoTW and bureau, eQSL is out for me.

I like the the old fashion way! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The program works fine, I just like it the ole fashion way. I DO NOT AND WILL NOT EVER FROM THIS REVIEW FORWARD LOG BACK INTO THE E-QSL WEBSITE! SO if you wan to Qsl from me, do it the old fashion way.

I am the first to love & use new products and ideas, but this one to me is more trouble than it's worth.

sorry gang!!

I don't use either eQSL or LOTW Anymore Time Owned: more than 12 months.
LOTW: I got very tired of jumping through hoops.

eQSL: Can't use them for the ARRL awards I would like to have. If ARRL and others accepted them I would give an unconditional '5'!

So now I only use paper QSLs.

BTW: to those who say eQSL is not secure - If an operator sends me an eQSL and I confirm it, WHY is it ANY LESS valid than an LOTW QSL???????? If someone confirms a QSL that is not in their logbook then they are STUPID beyond belief!

I like eqsl Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Okay, so they're not official but they're handy and for those of us who collect QSLs for mementos more than for points, to use a Californianism (gulp): "Totally awesome!"

They sent me to Afghanistan Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've just started QSLing and someone told me they had an eQSL for me so I went and signed up. Well, eQSL does not accept my callsign as an American callsign so I chose the next country in the list - Afghanistan!

So, according to eQSL that's where I am.

This only confirms a pattern I've noticed: Radios are fun. Computers are utterly un-fun. Computers don't belong anywhere near radios or anything fun.

With me it's paper QSLs or no QSLs.

Great Time Owned: more than 12 months.
eQSL is a needed service. What do you use more mail or e-mail.. why? same thing. I could care less if the ARRL ACCEPTS THEM OR NOT.

Think...... The reason that ARRL doesn't accept them is because they want you to pay .25 for every contact to verify through them. It is a competition thing. DXCC..... I dont need someone to validate what I already Know. If I want a Certificate, I'll print one. This is a great service to ham radio, and is cheap to use. Beats the heck out od $1.00+ to send out a paper one.
