Very Nice Tuner Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Got the tuner to keep a 1:1 VSWR across the band on the vertical antenna so as not to stress the finals.
It has worked flawlessly, no problems at all. It replaces an auto tuner that I had problems with. In fact, MFJ offers a money back policy if not satisfied, not so with the auto tuner purchased from another company.

Tuner is easy to use and has some nice features for the price. I would definitely buy another 945E if I had the need.

Great Value Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have never had a problem with this tuner. Just make sure to plug the 12vdc power into the back correctly.. I blew out my lamp.

I use this tuner for portable ops and at the home qth. I have used this tuner exclusively with a random wire and can easily tune 160-6m using a 120' wire.

Great tuner if your HF rig is equipped with 6m.

Works great! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I went down to Barry Electronics and they had two of them in the store. I asked that they take them out of their boxes, which they did. I shook each one and bought the one with nothing rattling around inside and it's turned out to be just what I needed. I use this with my DX EE and it tunes all bands well. I'm very happy with it.

Worth the money! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I am using this nice little tuner with an Icom 706 and a multiband attic antenna ( Van Gordon 4010) I also have a 6M dipole connected to it via an antenna switch.

I easily tune all bands between 10M and 40 M and, of course, 6M. This tuner works fine and is worth the money!

Nice Tuner Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased a new 945E as my first antenna tuner and I am very satisfied. I have some other MFJ equipment also and they all work just fine. I was a little concerned about the negative reviews of this tuner, but my experience has been very positive. There is a reason why this is such a popular piece of equipment. Good quality at a fair price. I will continue to buy MFJ equipment.

very poor tuner Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I bought this tuner from a friend new , ever since I used it I've had problems with it , I use a full size G5RV and it won't tune the thing on 40meters , but it will tune fine on 80 meters , any hard task and it just falls over and dies , also the antenna dial squeaks when tuning.

I'll give you a hint don't buy this tuner for base station use, its the worst tuner I have earned , I will never buy mfj again , very cheaply built .

cheers

Works FB Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Used here in the shack without a problem for over six years now. Used on 20 through 6 meters and works like a champ. No complaints and build quality seems fine. Right now, feeds homemade dipoles for 6, 17 and 12 and a trapped dipole for 10, 15 and 20.

One note -- had trouble tuning an attic dipole, as my operating position was mere feet from the antenna (running 5 watts). I moved farther away from the antenna (changed feedline length) and it tuned fine again, so maybe feedline length or RF caused a problem.

Great Tuner Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Well, I decided that with my FT-857 in the mobile, I would try 6 meters USB. Bought the Par OA-50, mounted it up a 97 Saturn 2 door (get many looks from other drivers) and hooked it up. WOW, with the car off, the SWR is flat, with the car on, the SWR is extremely HIGH. Well, lets try a tuner and see if I can tune it down. SO, I bought the 945E. With this tuner in place, I was able to tune it all the way down with 100w out. This tuner is great in my mobile. The cars electrical characteristics change day by day so I have to retune, but no biggie, as long as it works while the car is running...and it does.

Great tuner, recommended it to a friend who bought it, and it works great in his shack at his home QTH.

Would buy another in a heartbeat.

Works very well! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This tuner does exactly what I expect it to! It handles the 100 watts I put into it and tunes just about anything (within reason) that I "throw" at it! Very well done, MFJ!!

Solid Performer! I'd buy it again. It is well worth the money. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have been using this tuner for a few weeks and I am very happy with it. I would buy it again in a minute.

On the plus side, it functions like the other MFJ tuners and does its job but is also goes up to six meters. That is a plus. It will work where my rig works. I bought this in order to operate on the MARS HF frequencies with a G5RV and I could not ask for more.

On the down side, the case has plastic sides so it is unlike the other MFJ devices that come in a nice enclosure. I just dont understand why they decided to make it with such a cheap plastic enclosure. But, I got used to it. After a few minutes, it just becomes part of the shack and doesn't seem to adversely affect operation.

Bottom line is that it is a solid tuner for the money and I would buy it again tomorrow.
