Review Summary For : DX Engineering 572B
Reviews: 2MSRP: 81.95
Description:
Popular in many brands of Amateur Radio linear
amplifiers, these 572B tubes are a modern manufacturing
version of the vacuum tube that has been around for a
long time. Old tube making processes created wide
variations in production, so testing and matching tubes
into sets was required. Now, each DX Engineering 572B
tube is precision manufactured to a high standard, so
matched sets are no longer needed.

The 572B tube has been a proven performer in Amateur,
commercial, and military service. These high-quality
tubes will serve as direct replacements in any 572B
amplifier and are ideal for upgrades.

NOTE: No longer available from DXE

Its just another Chinese Shuguang Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Its still a Shuguang Chinese tube with DXE painted on the side, you pay extra for a name.
A customer wanted me to retube and do some other work to his Hunter 2000B and he included a new DXE set of 4.

Far from matched and a bit squirrely on 15 and 10 so I had to add stabilization. Power out was at least a KW on the regular bands, didnt change anything to add WARC.

Good so far Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased 3 DX Engineering OEM tubes for my AL-811 amp to replace my 811A and no issues so far, I'm able to get 125 watts out more than the Ameritron 811A tubes put out.

I'm guessing they are made my the same factory that make the Taylor Tubes for RF Parts.

The AL-811 doesn't have any "need" for matched tubes anyway, but I found it very interesting that DX Engineering claims these are of such high quality that there is no need to buy matching sets.

They are couple of bucks more than the Taylor Tubes, (and much more than the ones off eBay straight from China) but I have good experience with DX Engineering and figured I'd give them a shot.

I'll probably write an update review in a year.
