Received this with the radio, not sure what to do with it. Looks like the inside that holds the readio was designed upside down, no exit for the antenna, hard pack on back feels like carrying a box. Cover on top should have had a zip out feature.
A mic hanger on the shoulder strap would be nice, overall not ergonomically designed well. Should have been designed more like the military packs.
A flack vest would be better carrying the 817 than this crap.

Meh.. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After watching the one review I could find on this product, I bought one anyway. It lives up to the mediocre review. It actually does a really good job of holding the radio, Z817 tuner and limited stuff. However, it is a tiny piece of gear, not particularly rugged, and tiny. One would be hard pressed to fit even a small water bottle in for a real hike. No room for a sandwich. This is geared more towards the user driving up to the park or base of a hill and planning to spend maybe an hour or so being "portable". It's tiny.

I get that it is a specialized piece of kit, but for about $10-$20 more one could buy a full size Pelican backpack with integral hard shell case.

It's cute. It will serve to be an enhanced 817 carry all.
