SRH701A Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I’m not sure what the difference is between the SRH701 and the SRH701A, but I have the “A” version. I bought mine to replace a tired looking stock antenna on my Icom ID-51A. The performance has been excellent on both the 2M and 70cm bands and it also picks up the adjacent commercial and aircraft bands very well too. This antenna seems sturdy enough and I especially like the little spacer provided since the SMA threads on the ID-51A are long enough so that it won’t screw down all the way to be flush with the top of the radio. Enjoy!

Diamond Finially Got It Right! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Bought this antenna from HRO to replace a Comet SMA-503 and a Diamond SRH-519 for my Yaesu VX-2.
Antenna is about the same length as the 2 other antennas but it is much better constructed and performs much, much better. Am able to bring up repeaters up to 40 miles away with 1.5 watts. I have no concerns about breaking the whip which occurred on both the SMA-503 and SRH-519. Broad banded enough to receive AM and FM broadcast.
My advice to Diamond - Drop the SRH-519 and replace with this model. My advice to hams is buy the SRH701 - it has the same price as the SRH-519 but will last for years.
The SRH701 - Built well and it works!
