Description:
The OB4-20 is a modern computer optimized 4 element OWA design for the 20m band.
Gain and pattern are rather stable across the entire 20m band and represent the absolute optimum to be achieved on this just 7.50 meter (24 ½ foot) long boom.
The SWR is extremely low accross the band.
The entire construction (boom, elements) is heavy duty. The boom is square and not only makes the assembly very easy, it makes it impossible that the elements will turn on the boom even under highest winds.
A very compact but high performing 20m monoband Yagi.

OB4 200 WA 4 element 20 Meter Monobander
With an approx 24 foot boom length, this antenna plays like
a much larger long boom yagi. SWR is absolutely FLAT across
the entire band. Signal reports barefoot are on par with previously
triband antennas running an amplifier. Excellent front to back along
with a rugged boom truss and outstanding but simple mechanical
design. Put simply, it works much better than expected. I almost bought
a competitors antenna with a slightly longer boom – I'm glad I chose
this one hands down. I would rate this monobander A Solid “10

Great Antenna / Great Service / Outstanding Engineering Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
UPDATE: I have had the pleasure of using this antenna for over 6 months now. All I have to say is WOW. It is built like a tank. We recently received several ice & snow storms here and by the time that they were done (3 of them) - I had over 1 inch of ice on the antenna & the elements. 1 1/2" diameter ice eventually (today finally) fell from the antenna & elements. I was worried because the elements were drooping quite a bit.

I SHOULD NOT HAVE WORRIED. The ice melted and fell off. The elements have returned to their straight original shapes and the antenna is performing 100%.

To be honest, I simply love the fact that the antenna is literally flat 1:1 across the entire 20 meter band and every time I make a call I get great reports.

I am very happy with this antenna and you would be too.

Original Post:

I recently purchased the antenna from DX Engineering. DX Engineering was quick to ship and I found the antenna to be well packed.

The Optibeam was packaged in such a way that assembly is literally "by the numbers". Every part is marked and all parts are identified in the assembly manual and manifest that comes packaged with the antenna.

The antenna swr is flat 1.0 across the entire 20 meter band. The front to back ratio is outstanding. I have used many different antennas including SteppIR and I could not be happier with the simplicity and strength of the antenna system.

I feel that I made the right decision. Tom from Optibeam (DF2BO) and Tim (K3LR) from DX Engineering were there for any questions that I had and were very helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend purchasing the antenna from DX Engineering and Optibeam.

I have been the very happy user of a OB4-20OWA for about 6 months and I could not be happier with it. Performence is great, and more than I expected for a 20m yagi on a 7.5m boom. Flat and very low SWR curve over the entire band (what my amplifier like (-:
We already had some days with very high Wind but nothing to worry about with this strong and very well build antenna using very good and strong materials (I like veru much the Square boom when mounting and alignmentof elements). The support by Optibeam (Tom) is excellent and always very helpfull with very fast response. I made the right decistion for sure and I will never regret, Thanks Tom.
