Fine Vintage Receiver Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The HRO 7 is a fine receiver. Not quite the class of a Hammarlund Super Pro, but better than most receivers.

The receiver has a dual RF stage that increases sensitivity, but single ended audio vs push-pull audio. Never the less, the audio is quite clear. I would prefer three IF stages vs the two IF stages in the HRO 7.

The separate power supply is rugged. The plug in coils make this receiver more difficult to operate, but does contribute to the high sensitivity due to less losses in a band switch. It also does not have direct frequency readout.

I like the rack mount cosmetics vs the standard HRO. Buy one if you have a chance.
