Great Rig Control w/Third Party App Interface. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've owned this program since October, 2017 and have found it very solid and useful for my needs. Mine is interfaced to my FTDX-3000.

As a standalone CAT control program it offers quick and easy access to all the major radio control functions including all menu settings and a neat graphical interface to the parametric equalizer.

In addition, Tom has included an interface to Club Log spots and a shortwave listening database.

The program also offers a panadapter display utilizing LP-PAN (not tested) or SDRPlay which is what I use. I had an old RSP1 laying around here so I decided to try it out. I just plugged it in to the IF out on the FTDX-3000 and you have a very nice external panadapter display that is "clickable" on the PC for quick frequency change.

The feature of the program that I like the best is the ability to set up four "virtual" COM ports to run up to four 3rd party programs that can communicate with your radio simultaneously. For example, without this capability if you have your logging program running and connected to your rig and try to start up WSJT-X - no deal - the rig COM port is in use. With this suite, you can open up the "virtual" COM ports and have both programs running simultaneously. Yes, this can be done without the suite but Tom's program makes it easy, robust and gives you the CAT functions to boot.

Lastly, I have read that VA2FSQ (Tom) is quick to respond to questions and problems in other reviews. I have never tested this until today. I sent him an email this afternoon with a question and received an answer within a few hours. So, although I don't normally spend the time to write reviews I decided to go ahead and write one for Win4Yeasu.

This has been my experience...your mileage may vary.

Great Panadapter and Rig Control Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I purchased Win4Yaesu for two years ago to add a “big” panadapter to my FTDX-5000MPL. The basic installation was easy, and the rig control works very well. I opted to use the SDRPlay RSP1 for the SDR because it was cheaper than the other solution, and because it’s pretty much plug and play.

The feature that works well, but does take a bit of configuration, is integrating additional software using the “virtual port” feature that allows multiple applications use the single radio CAT interface. I’m using N3FJP logging software along with Win4Yaesu, and both applications work together seamlessly.

If you have a compatible Yaesu radio you should check out the Win4Yaesu software.

Best overall CAT Control Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I downloaded the 30-day trial of Win4Yaesu based on the reviews that I read here.
In short, I was not disappointed.
I am a newish ham and the 991A is my first shack radio. I am mostly interested in SOTA activating so all my gear has been backpacking portable. (KX2 and a Yaesu FT2DR)
But I thought a bit of SOTA chasing would be fun also. So, with that in mind I wanted to be able to Remote control my radio from work or where ever I was. I have played with HRD, but found it lacking in the Cat controls for the 991A. Win4Yaesu gave me everything including access to the 153 menu items. And easy control of the Memories.
I hadn’t even noticed that it had a Panadapter until I had already purchased Win4Yaesu. That was just a bonus. I already had an SDRPlay Duo so I dove into getting that setup. Here I ran into some challenges. I shot Tom an email. Everything I had read about Tom’s outstanding support is true. I had a reply about an hour later. This was at 9pm PDT. I had expected something the following day. After a couple of back and forth emails Tom had me up and running with Win4Yaesu’s built in Panadapter.
This part is much a personal preference thing. I like the Scope/waterfall of SDRUno better than the one built into Win4Yaesu. Maybe because I had been using SDRUno for months. However, Tom even has you covered there. Win4Yeasu has a robust 3rd Party Software/Hardware interface included. Two free downloads later. (com0com and Omnirig) I have both working together. Win4Yeasu for Cat and SDRUno for the Scope/waterfall with full 2-way communication between them.
5 stars all the way.

Very nice band scope Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I downloaded the Win4Yaesu Suite this week for rig control and panadapter to use with my FTDX-3000 and SDRPlay RSP2. I was able to get Sdruno, omnirig,Win4Yaesu, HRD logbook and my FTDX3k all working and tracking together however, I could not get the Win4Yaesu scope to display a spectrum. I worked for hours, watched youtube videos, read forums to no avail. I finally sent an email to Tom at Win4Yaesu and received an e-mail back from him in very short order. He said turn off Sdruno and all should work. It did! My problem was I thought the SDRPlay had to be on to operate...and it does except the Win4Yaesu Suite turns it on with no display, not the operator. This rig control and panadapter could not be better. I chase DX and the club log spots are displayed on the panadapter and the ability to zoom is outstanding. Support from Tom is the best I have seen from any vendor and I rate this 5/5 and I would rate it a ten if the system allowed. I recommend this software to anybody wanting rig control....there is no better! 73 Dick N6EB Wetumka, Oklahoma

Incredible program for integration Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I heard a fellow at my ham club meeting tell me that I could integrate the usage of Ham Radio Deluxe and my RSPDuo panadapter with this program. I downloaded the free trial version and within about 20 minutes I had it working! If you are smarter than me about computers you could do it in less than 10 minutes. I had to update all the firmware on my Yaesu 991 and when I finished that I hooked up my Yaesu 991 and RSPDuo to my laptop and turned it on. In the settings you have to select HRDLogbook.exe as a 3rd party software and it loads automatically. After seeing how great this worked I installed a 42" HD TV in my hamshack to use along with two other monitors and I have the panadapter, the Win4Yaesu control panel, HRD Logbook (with a couple of extra HRD windows) and still have "room" on my screens for any other program I need to run. Click on the panadapter and the radio automatically goes to the frequency selected. I'm still trying to get the panadapter display in Win4Yaesu look as good as the panadapter display in SDRPlay. I just haven't hit on the adjustments for that correctly. This program is worth more than the $50 I paid for it. It solves so many issues for me.

FTdx5000+WIN4YEASU ARE MADE FOR EACH OTHER Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Preface...I had used Win4K3Suite with two K3's, KX3. KX2, KPA500, KAT500, KXPA100, and KXAT100 for around 6+ yrs so I am familiar with Toms ways of making life easier. I now have a new FTdx5000MP Limited. I got the Win4YeasuSuite and I can honestly say it makes using this great radio even better and very easy to use. As stated by others all the features are there and only a mouse click away. Sliders make on the fly adjusts super simple. If you add a SDRPlay, as I did (RSP1 in my case) on the IF output (or LP-PAN) you have a real spectrum scope/waterfall that is totally mouse driven and interactive. A feature that I have found to be very useful in these times of low solar activity.

Setup is easy. With the virtual porting built in running your favorite logging and other programs are a snap. In my case I am running Log4OM and it works perfectly with the radio. I have also tried WSJT-X and it also works great. In the near future I plan on using MMTTY, FlDigi, and N1MM+ also. I am sure, just like with Win4K3Suite, they and others will work perfectly.

Please note that Tom will give you customer service second to none if you have any questions or issue. Check out his website and the videos. I am sure you will be impressed. For $50 you get a working program...that really works.. Real customer service. Free updates and upgrades with no extra changes, unlike some others that want extra $$$ for extended service and upgrades. You pay $50 once and that's it. Best of all once you down load the program you get 30 days to try it out and it is a fully functional program. Then you can decide if you want it. You have nothing to loose and a lot to gain.

Simply the best Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I own the Yaesu FTDX3000, which is a very capable rig, but ergonomically compromised by the menu system. Common complaints are that too many standard functions are buried in the menus.

The Win4Yaesu Suite is the cure for these buried menus. The suite makes the menu challenges moot. Even if I used the FTDX5000, which has many of the functions available on the front panel, I'd still use Win4Yaesu.

First realize I DON'T like using a rig wo/ a PC connection. In fact I never use the rig wo/ Win4Yaesu. Now settings like the NB or NR levels are on screen via slider controls.Even CW pitch can be set via a slider. I do believe the developer Tom has included every conceivable function in this suite. If it isn't there, Yaesu didn't write a CAT command for it. Bottom line: this removes awkward ergonomics the Yaesu engineers overlooked.

But there's more! Tom included a COM port splitter of sorts. This requires third party software like Com0Com to create virtual COM port pairs. Now I can send rig control through the suite to NaP3, WSJT-X, HRD Digitial, Omni-Rig, etc. at the same time. And it mostly works. Tom has even included an HRD emulator that allows HRD Digital Master and Logbook to be used wo/ HRD rig control running.

And Tom has excellent support. He even remoted into my PC just before leaving for the Christmas holidays, to help me with an issue.

Bottom line: Win4Yaesu is well worth the one time $50 price. And you get a 30 day full functioning trial before buying.

EXCELLENT CAT software, panadapter and third party integration Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Tom has done a great job in developing this package. The CAT sliders and buttons are just what is needed. All the necessary controls are available for adjusting the spectrum scope and waterfall for looking at an entire ham band. Radio memory functions are stored so you can change and save values on your computer instead of messing with the buttons on your xcvr. Favorite frequency storage (with descriptive notes) is also included. In summary, it's a most valuable addition to my shack. Best overall software available.
