With this transverter board you can operate on the 4 meter band using any type of the HF radio that has the 10 meter band. It would work the whole 4m band at 70 to 72 MHz if your base radio has the 28 to 30 MHz band. It works any modes such SSB, CW or FM if its available in your radio.

Terrific kit for the money Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I'm on my second one of these, having sold the first when I bought an icom 7100, big mistake as this little box is far better to my ears. Bought as a kit and built it up in a couple of hours or so, I do have the attenuator board, feed it with 5w, get 7.5w out. It hears better than the icom on the same antenna. I'm using a kenwood ts590 as the IF, OK its not a big named, high performance, high price device, it is what it is, a very capable little unit that can get people onto 4mtr with all mode capability for around £70 sterling. I've had no issues with either unit, build quality of the boards looks to be excellent. Instructions were clear. What's not to like

144 Mhz Transverter w/TCXO Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I had to retire my Elecraft XV144 xvrtr because without a crystal oven (unobtainium) or TCXO it is rather drifty. I used my recently acquired 2m Transverter in the Jan VHF 2022 Contest and it was stable as a rock. It will need help to drive the signal to a usable level (only 10w out w/o splatter). I use a Mirage B3016 and I only drove to 100w for the contest. Love it! It is also available as a kit ($70) or built ($105). Caveat! If you have transverter bnc outputs on your radio(I have a Flex 6400M) you do not need the attenuator board. This board is used for radios that do not have xvrtr outputs on your radio.

2 units failed to transmit - waste of money! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This review is for the 50 MHz to 28 MHz transverter product.

I purchased one transverter unit with attenuator board, but without enclosure. On arrival, the receiver function worked fine, but the transmit side did not. I tried to fault-find the problem, but to no avail.

So I ordered a completed new unit of attenuator board and transverter, already complete in the enclosure. On arrival, it also failed to transmit......

Sorry, but with my experience of 2 of these units, I have to give it a fail! I'm out of pocket by about $200....

Cheap, easy way to access new band Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased the single PCB module to put in a diecast box, to use with my K3 transceiver.

There is an additional attenuator board but when using the K3 transverter port it was a direct match.

Using the diecast box (I used Hammond box - 12.5 x 8 x 4cm) the cooling is plenty, box only gets hand-warm when running 10W CW for 30 minutes.

To mount the module, I cut two M2.6 threaded holes for the PCB and an M3 threaded hole for the PA transistor. I used an M3 nut and a ring under the PCB holes to get the required 3mm hight. This also means that the PCB is well grounded, per install instructions.

The Internet has a number of reviews, sometimes mixed: the LO would be off frequency - mine wasn't, just 200 Hz; the sensitivity would be poor - not on mine, sensitivity was fine using my test equipment.

However, the 2nd harmonic (140 MHz) is only -40dB down so I will need to add a low-pass filter on the output to comply with regulations here. That is why I rate the module four instead of five stars.

These modules - sometimes called "Ukrainian transverters" or UT5JCW transverter and are also sold via Ebay, usually with a better price.
They exist for other frequencies too: 50, 70, 144, 222, 432 MHz. I only tested the 70 MHz version.

This module is pretty simple, using transistor mixers instead of ring mixers. Ringmixers may result in better performance but the low price may help to get a new band at low cost.
