Outperforms other HT antennas of similar length on 2 meters Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Bought this off eBay after buying a Nagoya NA-701 & finding it worked worse on 2 meters than a stock Baofeng antenna that was 3.5 inches shorter! This antenna, on the other hand, beats out the stock Baofeng antenna in terms of transmitted signal strength on 2 meters by 2-3 dB on 146-148 MHz, & is about the same as the Baofeng at 144.5-145 MHz. The difference between this antenna & the Nagoya on 2 meters is night & day, despite this antenna looking almost the same & about the same length too. All 3 antennas that I tested worked about the same on 440.

Nothing beats a good gain antenna but if the extra length is too inconvenient, this is the antenna to get!
