Review Summary For : Jackson Harbor Press - SMT Keyer Kit
Reviews: 1MSRP: 15
Description:
The SMT Keyer kit is a surface mount version of one of
the following Jackson Harbor Press keyer kits:
* PK-4 (without the Solid State Relay)
* The Norcal and Pacificon Keyer
* The MegaPK-II Keyer
* The MegaPK-game Keyer
* The PK-Basic Keyer

The SMT Keyer has the same basic hardware (with a few
exceptions) as all of the above mentioned 8 pin keyers.
All parts are surface mount rather than through-hole.
You pick the keyer chip that you want at time of
purchase.

It features:
* pot or paddle speed control (pot, knob and paddle not
included)
* board size 0.7 1.0 inches
* low standby power (about 1 ua with regulator)

This kit provides the circuit board and the parts that
populate the board. The surface mount parts do not come
already installed. It does not include switches, pots,
knobs, jacks and piezo transducer as all of these parts
will vary based on specific user's needs.

If you intend to inject the sound from the keyer into an
existing audio section you will need parts for that
(typically a 0.1uF disc capacitor in series with a
resistor to reduce the output from the keyer).
Product is in production

Nice keyer and a real space saver Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I wanted to install a keyer and a couple more circuits into a Midway Electronics ME+40 kit I bought. The case is a good fit for the rig but it doesn't leave a lot of spare room. I wanted a keyer having surface mount components as it would be much smaller. I also wanted it to provide for a knob for speed control. This keyer fit the bill perfectly.

Assembly was straight forward. It worked the first time. The initial configuration was simple enough. I am very pleased with the performance so far. The price is great too. Very nice!
