mediocre for the price Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I purchased this radio because I know Bridgecom puts out a good line of repeaters and I thought their HT would be a real contender. Unfortunately it seemed like many of the other chinese HTs on the market. It's not a bad HT, however the Wouxun KG-UV66 that I paid 29.99 had better mic audio and selectivity. Selectivity was very poor on this radio. My 100mW Micro-Node would desense my HT enough to knockout my 440 repeater which was 6 miles away as I walked around the house, however it wasn't a problem with my Wouxun KG-UV66 or Alinco DJ-500T. The radio feels good in the hand and works ok. But you can get a lot better for $95. 73s...Bill, N1RIK

Very nice radio for the price Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have had my BCH-270 for a few months now and I really like it, nice sturdy feel with a good antenna, in fact I bought a larger Diamond antenna and the stock antenna works better! easy to program with the free software but you have to manually program the offset (separate TX and RX frequency input) sounds good gets good reports, can't be beat for the price

Sharp Little Unit Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Been considering a handheld for some time. Have not been higher than 6 meters in over 20 years. Only reason I even got on 6 was that it was built into my hf rig. Nice solidly built unit. Lots of built in options. Have been told it has great audio out, and speaker is quite responsive. Although it can be field programmed, I suggest obtaining the programming cable. The programming software is downloadable at no cost. Really like it and probably does more than I will ever use. Battery seems to have very good life. The folks at BridgeCom are very easy to work with and answer questions very quickly even on FB.
