Technically Superior to High End Big-3 Transceivers Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Time in service, over a year. Mine has the Datapoint modem and the Barrett 911 Remote Autotuner connected to ladder line random length dipole. My worst ever SWR was 1.2:1, most of the time 1.0:1. Average time to tune new frequency, 1 second.
ALE - Fast, efficient, with no need for external ALE specific software.
SELCAL - It works, but I have no need for it yet.
MARS - Yes
Flex-type "waterfall" type display, No, but I've had no need for it, Functions of exotic knobs, buttons, displays, found in high end ham radios are all done internally in the 2050.

Rugged & Reliable HF Radio Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Excellent commercial/military HF radio. Used heavily for MARS, with M110A data options. No-nonsense HF radio for ultra-reliable and fast communications. Expensive, but worth the money.
