Indispensable! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Really have come to depend on the RTR-2. With the optional high quality 13 db preamp, I can easily switch to receive antennas (three BOGs on a rotary switch) and the boost is just right. The box also keeps everything correctly timed so there's no RF into the receiver. It also enables a second receiver to be used, or dual diversity on the ANAN tcvr. High quality construction and excellent interface, really love it! I was having occasional ADC Overload through the receive antennas into the ANAN but installed the DXE receiver guard in the receive input and that fixed that. Very flexible device!

Excellent for adding receive only option to yout rig Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have installed this my KX3 and Pixel loop. This is a very robust unit with clear instructions. I like the fail safe features and the ability to switch the loop in and out to compare reception with my main antenna.
I added a high-low pass filter configuration to give me band pass between 160 and 40, where I need the low noise ability of the loop. That option is not documented in the sales literature or manual, but a quick call with the staff revealed that possibility. All AM band interference is gone.
As with any piece of gear ... read the manual at least two times... it is clear... my head not so much.
There are other brands that do this job and the RTR-2 unit costs more, but it reeks quality.

Very useful if your radio has only one antenna port Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have just set this unit up to use with my Sunsdr2qrp and Yaesu FT891 radios.
If you want to use e.g. a low noise rx antenna with your single antenna port radio?
then you will be very pleased.
I use it with my low noise beverage.
It is very well made.

High Quality Switcher Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I installed this antenna switcher to be able to use my long wire to transmit and my Active Loop to receive. I am using a Yaesu FT-450D at 100 watts. This unit is built like a tank, switches quickly and quietly and has handy indicator lights to show status. I am in a very high noise location and this allows me to use a loop to receive with greatly reduced noise and use the long wire to transmit. I was concerned about some other switched that were "RF Sensing". With a Active Loop there is a sensitive LNA at the antenna which is not at all tolerating of TX RF.

The ability to switch from the loop to the transmit antenna is a nice feature to compare signals. I have not seen any signal loss in either TX or RX. Overall, this is a solid solution for a ham who needs a separate RX antenna but their rig doesn't have a separate RX antenna connector.
