Recently I picked up my radio hobby again after a long absence,
I also recently purchased a new digital interface, the Rigexpert TI-5000.
because I am in possession of somewhat older type hf sets, (kenwood ts-140s and kenwood ts440s)
I also wanted to use this on the digital hf road.

I also ordered the cable TS-004 for this.
the ts-140s cable worked perfectly ! but unfortunately not on the ts-440s.

got in touch
with the Rigexpert Team, especially Dmytro Marievsky. He sent me the schedules
of TS-004 cable and on his advice applied a small modification and now the kenwood TS-440s works
also on the Rigexpert TI-5000 !!!

all digital modes work perfectly with the Rigexpert Interface,
what I also really like is that the main input RX and the output audio via the potentiometers on the outside
are very adjustable. I have also recommended the interface to a friend who has now also purchased it and is also very satisfied with it.

I am very satisfied with this Rigexpert Interface TI-5000 and especially the feed-back services of the Team Rigexpert, this one also gets the 5 stars from me !!!!

Replaced connector standoffs Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
The two 4-40 standoffs on the DB-25 connector at the rear of the unit are too short. I could barely engage the captive screws on the mating cable connector. The standoff is only 5 mm long. I replaced the 5+7 standoffs with 6+6 standoffs and now the screws couple easily.

Excellent and easy to use! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I just purchased a RigExpert Ti-5000. Install was easy, drivers loaded right up, and a way I went. I had been using a homebrew rig Tx/Rx interface, and a mixer board with USB soundcard built it. Drove me crazy with the riding the slider controls with different stations and different bands. Not so with the TI-5000. Steady audio and no adjustment needed after you have it dialed in.

I went with the TI-5000, I actually wanted a Timewave another PK232/SC, but none of the stores had them, and no answer at Timewave. I have a self upgraded PK232/SC in the shop at Timewave, been there 4+ months now.

I have not been tried any modes other then FT4 and FT8, but it has worked flawlessly thus far. I can work stations down to -24dB, which my other decoder would do as well.

I am running this on WindBlows 10 using WSJT-X and have had no problems. I also have a Linux machine, which sees the soundcard but wont talk to the Ti-5000. My issue, not that of the Ti-5000, the Operating System did see the Ti-5000, so it is a configuration problem.

RigExpert has excellent and prompt technical support, I did not need it with the Ti-5000, but dumped some RF into one of their other products, and within minutes of sending them an e-mail, they responded back with schematics.

Thus far am very happy with the Ti-5000, more to follow as I put some time on it, and other modes.

FT8 decodes well; keyer doesn't work with N1MM logger Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
If you are looking for a digital interface for FT-8 or true FSK (not AFSK) RTTY, you should consider the RigExpert TI-5000 if you don't have a lot to spend. The RigExpert TI-5000 is an exceptional bargain, if you do not need a K1EL Winkeyer.

The audio codec did not require any fussing to get it running. The rig CAT control for my Yaesu FT-950 to the N1MM logger worked perfectly, using the RigExpert TI-5000 accessory cable. The rig interface cable was high quality and connected easily, with no jumpers to solder or fussy software to figure out. It met my criteria for no RJ-45 or 8 pin mike connectors anywhere in the interface. FT-8 operation was plug-n-play and easily decoded signals in the -20 to -25 dB range. Receive audio response via the isolation transformers is flat on the spectral display. Also transmit power was stable when shifting around in the FT-8 window, and did not require constant readjustment.

I had problems with N1MM using the internal TI-5000 keyer. The function key messages would not work and the speed arrows drove it nuts, even though I had installed the unsigned driver from Rigexpert. I disabled the TI-5000 keyer by going to Devices and disabling its com port. Don't uninstall it or Windows 10 will try to reinstall it. I bought a K1EL Winkeyer, and it worked with N1MM. This is the only reason for less than 5 stars.

The best product. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
My first RigExpert Interface was the best unit – “SD” in coupled with the MixW. I got it in 2003.This interface has a slogan “Bought and Forgot”. This one has a good safety and reliability without any comments. My laptop NP-R780 hasn’t a COM-port and I prefer operating with USB-port. Those were a lot of good contest-fighting with PSK31, RTTY and so on! But since we had the new digital modes – JT65, FT8 etc – it took me a new interface.
Purchase of the RigExpert TI-5000 has been solved all my digital problems. Set-up was very easy and fast connects with both of the programmes – MixW and WSJT-X. I have all previous modes (like PSK31, PSK63, RTTY, CW, SSB) and plus new JT65, FT8, FT4 now.
I am a happy boy. I should advise for everybody to use RigExpert TI-5000 as your digital interface.

Excellent interface Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The TI-5000 is my first interface from RigExpert that I received about 3 weeks ago. Installation and connection went almost effortlessly. Needed some help from Alex UR4MCB head of tecnical support and he was very helpful. Few e-mails and all was ok. The trouble was my fault not theirs. Now everything works well on all modes and I can recommend the TI-5000 to everyone.

Excellent interface Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I’ve had other interfaces in the past and they all work OK but the TI-5000 works great and everything is in one box. No more separate USB to seral cable for CAT control, RTTY interface to get FSK RTTY, or Winkeyer interface. Everything is in one well-made steel box with switches on the bottom for configuration so you don’t have to remove the cover to change jumpers. On FT8 it “hears” extremely well, the TI-5000 has heard stations as low as -24, for me, so far allowing contacts that I would have missed in the past. Oh and before I forget, Yuri at RigExpert’s is excellent, he will do whatever it takes to resolve any issues you may have with their products so hats off and thanks.

Great Interface Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The TI-5000 is my second rigexpert I've purchased from Yuri at rigexpert.net My first was a rigexpert plus and it has served me well for a number of years and I suspect this one will too. The quality construction is second to none. I had a minor issue installing it the first time but a quick email to Yuri and support had the needed file to me asap. The reason it was missing was Rigexpert.com was updating their website and it hadn't made it online yet. It is now as I write this. The new interface has a nice addition of two mic inputs and footswitch port. Thanks Yuri and Rigexpert it's nice to have FSK RTTY again.
