GREAT ANTENNAS Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
LETS LOOK AT THIS FROM MY PROSPECTIVE I AM ONLY MOBILE FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME. AND THERE ARE BETTER H F MOBILE ANTENNAS ON THE MARKET. BUT FOR MY USE THE IRONHORSE PACK WORKS FINE. 10-40 METERS I CONSTANLY GET 5-9 OR 20-9 REPORTS ON ALL BANDS WITH MY YAESU FT-890 AT THIS IS A GREAT RADIO FOR MOBILE USE ALSO. I CAN TAKE A $20.00 HIT ON THIS ANTENNA BETTER THAN A $500.00 HIT ON THE BETTER ONE. BUT FOR MY USE THE IRONHORSE ANTENNAS ARE A VERY GOOD ANTENNA.

GREAT ANTENNAS Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Purchased the 5 pack and have been very pleased. Tuned up very easily. Running an ICOM 706MKIIG (No Tuner). Having fun making local and DX contacts.

great antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Have used Pro-am, hamtick, and Antron. The Iron horse is the best of them. Have used the 20 and 17 meter sticks while on vacation with a Yaesu FT-100d, Had many great qso's. A very good product

Outstanding-even 40 & 75 Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Bought the whole set (plus 17m) in March 2002. Using FT-100D with Ameritron ALS-500m in a 2000 Nissan Xterra. Plenty of power handling ability, great signal reports(even on 40m daytime 400 miles away.) OK, you can spend half a kilobuck for a mobile HF antenna, but for 89 bucks for the set, is it really worth it?

(P.S. The manufacturer of the Stealth HQ antennas has lied repeatedly to me. My recommendation is to stay away from him....)

Great, easy to install. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently installed an IC-706MKIIG, AT-180 antenna tuner and purchased the set of five antennas. I live in Northeast PA. My vehicle is a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. On Easter Sunday I was in my truck tuning around and realized a contest was on, I made several contacts. Two days later I drove to work to try out the rig and antennas during lunch. I managed to contact 9K2RA which is in Kuwait City. Running the 706 at 100 watts into the Iron Horse 15 Meter antenna, I received a signal report of 55. I have the antenna mounted on my hitch. I like the antennas better than I thought I would. The nice part is not only do they work nice, but there also inexpensive. If I should break one or one is stolen, I can easily replace it and it won't break my bank account. I thought about a fancy screwdriver antenna, but since our state uses salt and ashes on the roads in winter I'm afraid it might screwup the insides of the screwdriver antenna. I may have to change the antenna for each band but I know the antenna hitch will be good and can repair any damage before it gets to far.

17m Ironhorse - Uk first contact Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
2 months ago I bought the full set of 10m - 75m set of Ironhorse Hamsticks, Plus the 17m. This was a new install on my 96 Buick Century. I installed a IC -706 Original model and a truck mount on the car. After completion of the install
I mounted the 17m ant. I worked into Europe to UK, Italy, and several other european countries.

Later that night the band was still open and I mean later 2am central time. I was putting out a CQ and worked a station in Russia.

Value for money Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought the 20m Iron Horse with a Diamond trunk lid mount yesterday. Last night, with my IC-718 at 100W, I made contacts with Bulgaria (56), Croatia (55), France, Russia (58), Estonia (56) and Fiji. It was easy. I was in the middle of an empty parking lot - which may have been the reason that it seemed to be easier than with my G5RV at my home QTH.

I'm going to rush out and get some more of them.

AMAZING UPDATE Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
3rd Update. Another amazing contact.

BOTH Long AND short path contact in 1 QSO, to India!
These worked so well on my mobile I bought a matching set to use on the apartment rooftop. A magmount on a flattened computer case with the 20M whip on it. I answered Sabu's (VU2ELJ) CQ a week ago Thursday and he was surprised I was not mobile! We talk regularly! when I am mobile.
This time he took time to swing his beam from over the south pole to over the north pole! He gave me 5-5/6 reports in BOTH directions! Go ask him!
AMAZING ANTENNAS!

UPDATE!
My Iron Horse 20M whip and 706 'G' barefoot mobile just got a longpath (to ZS6) report of an actual S-2, Q5. ....
when set to 'L' ( 5 watts PEP!!! ) on the 706 power output adjustment!
Now you can't ask for much better than that.

Using the Iron Horse "mulehorse" mount and the IHF-15 15M whip on a small nissan 300ZX my 100 watt IC-706 Mk II G put an S-8 signal into Japan for over 12 minutes of arm-chair copy (from Hollywood). I had not yet wired the mulehorse magmount to the car body!
First night on 20M I listened to a VK run a net taking checkins from S. America and Europe and I heard all of them. Even heard the H44 that was in the noise on my dipole the night before (propogation?).
Wish I had some hard technical data to back this up but for 20 bucks it works for me!

Could any other brand be better? Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
"Best signal on the band."
"Can't believe you're a mobile."
"Just had to call you and find out what you are running."

Those are quotes from recent QSOs using my TS-440S and the Iron Horse mobile HF antennas. So far I have the 20 and 10 meter Hamsticks and have used 10 meters the most. I can truly say that I get better signal reports mobile than I do when the rig is used my home QTH. I spent $35 for a mount, and $17 for each stick. They are simple to use and with the great reports I've been getting and all the fun I've had, I can't believe any other brand could provide so much fun for such a small investment.

70 DX and WAS now. 75m stick with counterpoise cut for 40m got me Vermont in the SSB-SS with 15 minutes to go. 70/80 sections and 209 QSOs on first Sweepstakes. I love these antennas!
