Nice antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Would be a 5 but - dips out on 70cms very nicely at about 1.2:1 and at about 432 and clealy rises towards 440 very happy with that. On 2m the VSWR is about 1.5 and seems to be least at the top end of the band - it is sold as a 1.5:1 antenna it has to be said. Not happy with that I loosened the bottom two grub screws and extended the bottom half of the antenna by about 3mm tested it again and the value came down to about 1.3 still at the top end. I repeated the adjustment to the point where the botton scerw was only just pinning the bottom antenna rod. That resulted in a value of 1.2 across the band which seemed to be wholey in band.
The antenna was fitted to a 5.5ins dia. mag. mount on the roof of my car and driven by my new FT-70.
If the manufacturer reads this (not it appears to be contactable directly) then it would be a good idea to increase the length of the bottom rod by 3mm.
